How they beat two 5-4 teams and a randleman team that just lost to trinity. I am sure north surry and east surry beats all those teams. So the biggest threat in the west to me is mountain heritage

Those 5-4 teams you are referring to are both 3A.
Roundabout High beat West Stokes earlier in the year. Currently 3 in West 2A RPI and a team that stayed right with Reidsville until very end. Also this same West Stokes team that beat BOTH of those Surry squads.
Not really sure those Surry teams you brought up would “beat” any of them.
Whatever you have going on with Tarboro fan is cool and all but ER ain’t got nothing to do with that.

I definitely think heritage is a serious threat. I still believe MA is a very good team I'd be a fool to say otherwise. And anybody who is underestimating them is in for a rude awakening. Also bud I got nothing but respect for the program at MA. Y'all are definitely one of the premier programs all time in this state.
Well from ER itself, it’s either up Highway 22 or go by five points and take Kidds Mill to Highway 22 NORTH!

It'll be a really good game if it happens. Maybe it will. 1a West has some really good teams. But MA has the experience and that's huge especially this time of year.
I find this post interesting , time will tell. Tarboro hoping for some else besides the Bears.. That’s all you need to know. Eastern Randolph fan is asking why. That is an interesting take to say the least. If I was a betting man ( which I’m not ) I would tend to think that the Tarboro T isn’t a match for the Bears defense just like previous years and We look forward to seeing the cats and all challengers at Wallace Shelton this year. But I would be worried about a couple other Nw1a teams before I was worried about the champs. Just saying

Lots of teenagers running into each other between now and then though. Never know how things will shake out.
Tarboro ain't afraid if you are implying that. Tarboro went out and scheduled a Havelock team that is loaded from top to bottom that should say enough. And yeah they lost, but so would every 1a in the state. Best believe Tarboro wants another shot at the bears. And this is a new year implying that Tarboro offensively isn't a match for MA defensively this year remains to be seen. Hopefully y'all make it back because it should be a good game if it indeed happens.

There are some really good teams to get by in the West this year.
But all in honesty…the 1st year we lost, it was all cockiness honestly & last year I was definitely nervous and had a bad feeling about it🤣 but this year is all out the door. I love our chances against MA this year but ER makes me nervous!
I think ER is a top 5 1A team this year and beyond that we will see how it shakes out. At times they appear to be unstoppable and other times they don’t look very good. I don’t personally think this years team is as good as the past two but I think you can also say that about most of the top contenders. Ifs and buts and past teams and candy and nuts and we’d all win the championship you know. I think ER is right where they belong and in the thick of it with a chance to yet again make a deep run. No shame in that year after year. Would I sit here and say oh the west better look out this year they are on a mission? No I don’t personally feel that way about them. I think there’s quite a few good evenly matched teams at the top and somebody will make it through.

Tarboro vs ER would be exciting this year. I think you’d see a lot of 3 yards and a cloud of dust. Slight edge to ER with some occasional passing. For the most part I think they’d just line up and go at it.
Same ole prediction every year from Tarboro, trust me we ain’t scared of you either. You used to intimidate everyone but the bears have shut you down and will be there ready if there is a third meeting. Some Tarboro fans, tarvikes, show respect and we have respect for him and respect coach craddock. Same story this year. Reel the thread back to a year ago then the same things would be said all the way up to 3rd qt state championship. Different teams different year. This is my last comment on this thread. Let me say AGAIN until somebody beats MA they are the team to beat. Yes y'all have beat Tarboro 2 years in a row. You joined a very select group of teams to have beaten coach craddock and company back to back years so I will say again congratulations on accomplishing that. Now with all that being said, forgive me but last year I think most Tarboro fans that I know on this site all agreed that Mount airy was a different beast. No well known Tarboro fans came up here and predicted us winning in dominant fashion. And let me also clarify something else that is just flat out not true Tarboro is NOT afraid of MA, and MA ain't afraid of Tarboro.
Both teams IMO have respect for each other, and you won't hear either team say anything negative about the other team. I hope this matchup does indeed happen again because I do think this year Tarboro has a great shot at winning. But I'm sure if they do certain individuals will try (and fail) to minimize it anyway they can. They'll claim the West was down this year yeah I know how some of y'all get down. See, agree to disagree. No chest bumping. We know you , you know us . We know you are senior laden and just as good as ever. You know us Junior laden and honestly still some questions to answer. But with that said we like our chances with our defense.
Much respect to your program , teams and coaches. Hope we get the matchup. West is tough as usual , East is a one team show. Good luck the rest of the way , not just to these two teams but all teams that are a playing.
As much as I have enjoyed reading the going back and forth I would just suggest that we play these games one at a time.

Seems to me all other teams the 1A West should just forfeit! MA seems to have the 85 Bears defense and the Greatest show on Turf on offense. You people act like they are automatically playing for the State Championship.
Maybe your team will get a chance to come visit the granite city whoever your team is. We are playing whoever is next up
So I will put it out there . West is down when compared to last year and the year before but way UP considering several teams pretty much evenly matched. Hurts not having that 3 or 4 teams from the SMC battling it out. Gonna be a hard pill to swallow seeing an undefeated ( in loss column) swain team playing in the playoffs. A damn travesty as I am a huge fan of SMC football. Yes a MA fan said it 😂😂
Bears play on grass at Wallace Shelton. Not entitled to anything. But committed in making sure you get that invitation when your teams number comes up. Will leave you a 20 dollar gift card at the concession stand so it isn’t a wasted trip here in a few weeks. Box of Kleenex’s to, gets chilly on the creek

I felt that way too till Trinity beat randleman. That takes a lot of credibility away from that win of a randleman. I don't think this Mount Airy team looks very good on offense but there is good on defense as they have been. Maybe better. Yardage giving up wise they've given up less than last year I believe if you look at MaxPreps. As far as for 10 games. But that offense has got to get a lot better to take some pressure off. But they still smack you in the mouth on both sides of the ball. That's a rarity in high school football these days. But some teams are getting back to that. Namely us. Tarboro has always done it. I think Murphy is probably the biggest threat out of the West. But they're going to have to travel to Mount Airy. I think the good teams like Mount Airy and tarboro have shown what they do to one trick ponies. For instance when all you have is your quarterback that's that good. It's not as cut and dry as it was last year but I'd still take the boys from Surry county.
And yet, as I mentioned, Roundabout High beat West Stokes who beat the Surry high schools and took Reidsville to the end of game. Randolph county, while it ain’t the SMC, does have a lot of old rivalries. It’s also true everyone wants to beat and gets up for one team in particular. By the way Eastern Randolph beat this Trinity team y’all keep holding up 57-13. 🤷♂️
Not really holding them up man I've just seen them Wes Stokes that is play teams. Particularly us. I think it says more about reidsvilles lack of defense than it does anything else. Or maybe it was just an off night but I don't know. Still I just said I wasn't sure. Better play better than that though
