2 yrs ago in the playoffs TS won 58-55 on a hail mary on the games final play , last year regular season Scotland
goes back to TS and wins 34-29. ..This year Scotland loses at Dillon game 1 with there run game non existent 37-21. TS wins at topsail 47-41. This week Scotland County will host TS. The computers have Scotland about a 2 td favorite, no doubt Id take the pts if i was a betting man here but W/L is all that matters. I see a 1 score game here and hope the team in blue has a higher point total...Any thoughts??

Mallard Creek came from behind with a good win over PAC 31-21. Cardinal Gibbons with a good win over Jordan 43-24. Any thoughts with this game.

Last year this game went down to the wire. North Iredell suppose to be improved team from a year ago, but they lost their starting RB to Lake Norman and a player to Starmount. North Iredell does have 1 standout player their QB Caleb Sales, but he can't do it all. This use to be good Rivalry from the 80s to mid 90s North Iredell and Starmount. North Iredell was about the only program that could give Starmount fits in BW Holt era. Starmount is loaded and off to a good start. Starmount by 18. Any thoughts?

You guys have been hailing NC as East contenders for this season after they crept up on the region last year. Especially since it appears that Clinton is out of the picture. I just don't believe in that as much as everyone else does. I say this knowing how bad they smacked us last year. I have no idea how good either team is this year, because we can't use the first game as a gauge for either team. The opponents were outmatched before the season started. But here's to a good game! It just rained heavily, so the field will be slippery. Hope I'm not eating crow tonight! SWE 35-28

Any thoughts on this game. I know East is really good and I know Jack Britt has had some good teams in the past but I have no clue about them this year.

Simmons has West as 5pt favorite... I know Oak Ridge is really good and has a terrific QB & RB. West QB Riley Horton must have another big night along with that Titan Defense. "Trap Game" .... before #1 Weddington comes to town and that could get ugly in 2 weeks.

From what I saw last night Owen is just too young and too small at the present time. They were bullied by a bigger older team last night. Owen dressed 24 last night 2 seniors and 6 Juniors and 16 underclassmen. Enka had 40 dressed most of which were upperclassmen. I think Enka is pretty solid but not sure how good they are. Our JV played pretty solid on Thursday. A couple of costly turnovers and lack of depth hurt them. With that said if they stick together I believe they will improve on both teams and win a few games. Next year I can see a pretty good jump then the year after they will be very good. Also our middle school has in the mid 20’s with what I’ve heard has some solid talent. It’s going to take a couple years but I believe Owen can again be competitive. It’s gonna take the kids buying in and sticking around. It’s also going to take the coach sticking around. I think he can be the right guy to turn it around. Time will tell. We have to stay healthy or we will suffer through a disappointing season but if we do I think we can win 3-5 games. They have to pick up a couple the next couple weeks though. It would have helped this year if we didn’t have a very good player transfer to ACR and 2 decide to just not play. They would have all been upperclassmen and helped significantly. With low numbers that is very rough. It’s hard to work so hard for kids and lose but stay the course young Warhorses and you will learn a lot about yourself and it will pay off not only on the field but in life. Go Owen! Stack your chips! The community is behind you!

Weddington was up 14-0 in 2nd Q when storms came through. AK maybe had 10 yards of offense. Game rescheduled for 1pm tomorrow but then AK apparently forfeited.

Mitchell @ McDowell

The Titans couldn't slow down the rushing attack of RS and had trouble up front and on special teams allowing great field position and a long Kickoff return TD. The passing game looked good as they passed for 200 yards but struggled to establish a ground game. Mitchell will be much better on defense than RS and McDowell will likely struggle to score.

Erwin @ Mountain Heritage

This is one of the top games in the state this week. Erwin thrashed Daniel Boone and Heritage ran all over Chase. Can Erwin stop the powerful rushing attack of Mountain Heritage? Can Heritage stop the prolific passing game of Erwin? Should be a terrific game but Heritage is too strong at home and up front.
