This is my Game of the week!

2-5 Spartans host the 3-4 Cougars.

AC had played a good schedule but has struggled at times and They got some talent there.

South: I never seen em before - Ik they tried to be a spread team but we know the “Roots” of This program is Run the ball.

It’s a rivalry so you never know what will happen - I’m sure we will see a heavy dose of old school run the football in this one.

There is no cost for the tournament and we will give out trophies for 1st and 2nd place as well as All-Tournament Team and MVP. Coaches will have a hospitality room for them as well.

The Big South 3A conference is a wild ride this year. Currently a five way tie for 1st place lol. Crest, South Point, Ashbrook, Hunter Huss, and Kings Mountain all tied with one loss each in the conference. Ashbrook at Kings Mountain should be another good one next week!

Any thoughts with this game. Can Chambers make it a good game with West Charlotte.

Oct 21st, Bears are still number 1 in latest Rpi this morning, number 2 in the max preps rating, 8-0 going into week 10. Riding a 38 game win streak. Always get everyone’s best game because of who they are. Opponent's records are 36 -26 to date, with 14 of those 26 losses coming from 2 teams on schedule. Arguably the best this traditional schedule for the bears have been in a number of years. East Surry , North Surry , Surry Central, Ashe County , East Wilkes , Starmount are all having exceptional years. Some compare this years bears team to the last without taking into consideration that all teams on the Bears schedule are all much improved. They’ve played and beat these schools with a team that some say isn’t what it was while all these other teams have the best teams they have had in years. While we ride into the playoffs resting up , healing up, working on the X’s and O’s and cleaning up the laundry 🧺 basket preparing for yet another playoff run. I’m hearing the phrase refuse to lose and making doubters believers is the whispers in the locker room these days. I hear excitement from other fan bases about undefeated middle school teams and undefeated JV teams all awesome accomplishments. But let’s talk about this group of bears. This junior class has experienced one loss, well a couple of them against East Surry which was the last time the bears lost. It was their 9th grade year 1st game ever as a high schooler. Outside of that they have never lost, not even at the little league level. Great teams find ways to win especially when facing adversity. Adversity makes teams stronger. If I’m thinking right this team will be peaking at the right time. PLAYOFF TIME. Give me a few reasons why I should doubt this group ?

Right now I’m not sure how many games will be played on the bonus week.

Now that two games have been played in the conference I imagine we have more of a feel for each teams strengths and weaknesses compared to each other. With that said let's talk about it....

ND travels to Aboro coming off a loss to rival Oak Grove. The Black Knights must get their offense rolling this week, as the defense played well but faces a different kind of opponent this week with speed. ND has faced 4A teams this year so Aboro likely doesn't bring any more to the table than those teams, but teams with speed have always and will always be NDs weakness... Aboro on the other hand is still trying to put it together for four quarters. Otherwise Aboro has shown tremendous improvement and Coach Brown has done a stellar job with that program relative to what they were when he got there. Knights can't afford to take em lightly...

Oak Grove will kill Ledford. The prissy panther students will chant "Daddy's money" at the Grove students til they're blue in the face but that won't help them in this curb stomping of a mismatch. Do your thing Grizz... Best is when they return fire with WHO'S YOUR DADDY?! Ledford does not have a single legit victory against OG. Their only victory came against sophomores and juniors in OGs first year of varsity... most games have been competitive but this won't be.

Central rolls down to where the hills have eyes 👀👀👀 but those hills are in trouble because Central is clicking now with that double wing attack after a tough nonconference schedule. MC has beaten only patsies and are still looking for their first win against a legit opponent. Central likely takes this comfortably unless MC offense can show out with their speed. Central offense will steamroll... Sparty by 3 TDs at least imo.

It all comes down to this last conference game of the season for the Blue Devils, and they'll be on the road against county rival North Lenoir Hawks. SL offense has only scored 8 points in conference play this season, and i believe that was on special teams. While NL top scoring output in conference play is only 20 points. The Hawks has a chance to win their 3rd conference game and that will be the most wins they have mustered in ECC play. I think the Hawks will double their top scoring output and come out of this one with the win. Hawks 40 Blue Devils 0.

SOUTHWEST ONSLOW @ (8)JAMES KENAN
Last year Southwest came from behind and beat the Tigers 34-24, a heartbreaking defeat for my Tigers 🐅. This time around the Tigers 🐅 are undefeated, and are looking to remain that way. SWO is coming off a bye week, after blowing out winless SL their last outing. SWO usually have some kind of trick plays, and formations that they'll display after a bye week in preparation for the Tigers. The Tigers will have to be prepared for that, and not looking ahead to their season finale against the Bulldogs. I believe my Tigers will be ready and walk away from this one with at least a share of their first conference championship in 9 years. Tigers 48 SWO 12

This season has been a difficult one for both the Bulldogs and Panthers, they have a combined 7 losses, something that no one expected. But we're here now, and this game is a hard one to call. The Bulldogs can still claim a share of the conference crown, while the Panthers will be playing for better playoff positioning. I have stated that I think ED will win the rest of their games this season, but after the performance from the Bulldogs defense against Kinston Friday, I just don't know. The winner of this one will more than likely finish second, or tied for second place in the ECC, and will probably have a home first round playoff game. Which offense can take control of
this one, I have seen both play, and I still don't have a clue who has the upper hand. So I'm going to give ED the edge because they're home, and say ED pulls out another close classic game between the Bulldogs and Panthers.

After Surry Central game!

Hello all, I have to get on here and say thank you all for what the eastern part of NC is doing for Mitchell County and the rest of the mountains. I know u all have probably seen pictures of destruction but they don't do it justice. It's like a bomb has been set off. I m a volunteer firefighter here in Mitchell County and there is fds from eastern NC running calls for us. We all might fuse and fight on here but when something like this happens in our state we all pull together. It's going to be a long time before Mitchell and other counties recover from this. Some many people have lost their lives during this time and I know their is more unaccounted for. Please continue to pray
