Love that assessment. Score 50 and we aren’t close to last year. They score on pick 6 and second score was aided by 50 yards in penalties but they are no where close to last year. Like robbinsville last year be careful what you wish for in a couple weeks. There will be someone surprised or very disappointed.

I do think North Surry is a good team this year. Not great, but good. I think a game between them and Starmount would be close with Starmount winning by a around a TD. My thoughts on the Starmount Mounurry game score would be similar in reflection of the game differential from Friday with the score being around 7 points closer, like 49-21 or 42-14.

The East Surry vs North Surry game could go either way, and the West Stokes vs. North Surry game (noncoference) could as well. I just think North Surry wins their conference which will probably depend on the out come of that East Surry game.

As for the thread topic, I don't expect this one to be particularly close. As I view, Starmount, North Surry, East Surry, and West Stokes close to or about equal this year, the score should be similar to last week. I did watch a good portion of the East Surry Robbinsville game, since it came on at earlier at 7. Watched the first 30 minutes, during MA halftime and after MA had a sizable lead switched back to see the end of the East game. If East doesn't handle the ball better this Friday, it will be a hard night. It was a bit of a sloppy game from both East and Robbinsville.

Also certainly Tennessee wouldn’t pay a kid still in HighSchool and not even enrolled yet..He could just take the money and go to another school….

Tennessee University wouldn’t but Spyre out Knoxville probably could help. Nico signed with Spyre and they were going to represent him even if he didn’t go to TN.

The problem is that privates can and publics can’t. This creates an unfair playing ground. I don’t think the lawsuit would have been filed if their weren’t the private exception. Either everybody can or everybody can’t.

Poorer families are especially squeezed by this NIL imbroglio. Que Tucker and the NCHSAA had developed parameters for HS NIL, but the legislature/NCDPI nixed it since they have taken over the reins high school athletics. This lawsuit will be long in court and will provide no immediate benefit to current athletes but may benefit kids down the road. My prediction: NCGA will fold like a cheap suit.

Week 2 matchups

MC takes on East Chapel Hill this week. They won the game last year and it sparked a good nonconference record before they went downhill once again. However, MC has been improving little by little year by year and may be able to finally break through this year, we shall see...

Asheboro stomped a hole in Albemarle and I know they are excited but will face a much bigger test against Eastern Randolph. I know the ER people aren't gonna just step aside and let a county rival celebrate the dawn of a new age at their expense. Hopefully more competitive than it has been recently but ER is probably a solid favorite.

Oak Grove travels to Clemmons to take on West Forsyth for the biggest test they will likely face this year. Gonna be a big crowd and I am hoping to be there as well. The Grizzlies and Titans have had some good games the past couple years and OG gets to find out how they stack up to a big 4A school to prep themselves for playoffs.

Speaking of big 4A schools, ND travels to Northwest Guilford after showing improvement against Salisbury from last year. NWG has destroyed the Knights the last couple years but here's hoping for a competitive game.

Ledford got their 4A opponent Glenn out of the way and gets their annual blowout against West Davidson this week. The Dragons beat Wheatmore and congrats to them but the Panthers will be a much tougher opponent and most likely have their way with this matchup as per usual.

Central moves on from a powerful Monroe team and will take on Cuthbertson, whom I know absolutely nothing about other than they blew out Parkwood 42-0. The Spartans double wing always gives people fits, so I wouldn't be surprised if Central won.

Word out of Boonville? We are just happy to have a real coach again and be somewhat relevant after a decade of despair. Nobody expects to win a state title, yet. Keeping it somewhat close against mounurry will be a huge step in the right direction.

I’m glad y’all checked the water. I get a little worried sometimes while reading y’all’s posts.
