Butler at Richmond

Two teams trying find themselves early in the season with surprise outings in game one. Richmond exceeded expectations against a good team but still came out on the short side. Butler endured a severe butt whipping. Sometimes even really good teams can get steamrolled on a given night. This game will determine if Butler had a really bad night or are simply not as good as advertised in pre season. Interesting matchup for a lot of reasons.

Butler at Richmond

I will say, I believe Butler will be fine offensively. I think they got pass heavy obviously as the game got out of reach. They're at their best being balanced, and I think you'll see that reflect better this week.

Defensively, it starts up front for them. Rolesville has an excellent offensive line, but Butler has players like Coleman and Farmer who can be impact players. Those guys have to play well to help the younger LBs and secondary.
From some conversations I've had with some coaches Butler is not as talented as made out to be. When judging HS talent we cant look at just the college guys but the overall collection of talent. While Butler may be an upgrade in school/program its a definite downgrade in overall talent when compared to Chambers. Right now Indy, Hough, MP, WC, and MC have better talent than Butler IMHO.

Family of Grimsley QB Faizon Brandon sues State over NIL Restrictions

Many don't look at like it's God given talent, but a profitable talent. This shows where for the most part, our priorities lie, especially with parents.
SMH. So the banker that makes millions on Wallstreet, or the country club guy, or the investment guys aren't using God given talents? What about Real estate guys or scientist? Plumbers? Project managers? Hair stylist? Whose talent are they using? Pretty sure God gave ALL talent not just sports talent.

-Folks that rail against NIL, are the same ones that talk free enterprise, capitalism, and free markets. Only when it comes to athletes does this so called fake amateurism comes in. NO complaints when bowl games, bowl execs, banks, cities, schools, conferences and coaches made millions upon millions and athletes were not paid. Only when The athlete/labor gets paid do you cry.

Football pays the bills and builds the moral for 90% of HS schools, the majority of colleges, and society. The NFL makes $13B a year and provides a huge tax base for cities. So why would anyone get upset with a player getting paid for their God given talents when everyone else gets paid off of it?

West Stokes vs. Randleman

Power Attack is hard core trolling. Post on everyone's in the area threads just to sir the pot. Case in point is you see no one from WS ever post but king blue devil and I've seen no such chest thumping from him.
Yeah. No way HSOT sees or gets a report on every linemen in the state. Lowman has always hard pressed his kids into the spotlight...always been good at it.

That being said...really interested in how this game turns out.

East Gaston vs North Gaston

Honestly, I think it would be really, really nice to be able to go onto maxpreps and view our current roster. Currently, East Gaston’s maxpreps roster is incomplete, at best. I just went through about 15-20 other teams just now and didn’t find that to be an issue with any other school. Who is in charge of doing this?
While at it; can we get decals on our helmets, updated roster on Hudl too, and run 2 plays in a row without a penalty?

East Gaston vs North Gaston

I didn't get all the specifics but it was enough to make a few people withdraw their name from contention.
Was it truths? I mean like was coaches asking about support, kids in the pipeline, things of that nature or do you think it was false stuff that he was making up? I think if he never made up anything and only gave facts and his opinion based on his experience ,then there was no wrong done.

2024 Reidsville Rams Preseason Discussion

He was often unfairly criticized, and definitely taken for granted, but I think Reidsville is going to miss Al Lee more than some of you guys think. He was a three year starter, and had a big arm, could push the ball down field, could move the chains, mobility wise.

I watched Neal’s Hudl highlights from that game. He is obliviously a superior athlete, but he has a water pistol for an arm, and if you think quarterback sweeps and screen passes will get it done versus fast defenses, as in Shelby or Monroe, you could be in for a rude awakening. He bounced everything outside. As fast as Shelby’s defense is, I can’t see him having much success doing that. 12-14 88 yards passing is efficient, but again, 90% percent of those passes were WR screens. He’s an athlete playing quarterback.

Cobb had 8 carries for 113 yards, his touchdown run being 89 yards. Take away the td, he had 7 carries for 24 yards. Humble yourself! You’re not as good as you were last year, period. I definitely hope Shelby sees the Rams this season, and both teams are healthy.
Ugh, Lion, you realize you are probably replying to a post made by most likely a teenage high schooler who has a very limited history of high school football???
