I thought that was the point of everyone getting turf fields. Last I checked it was just calling for rain not lightning or storms, let them play on Friday!
I wondered the same thing with all the schools with turf now. I'm assuming they want that gate $$. Rain=no fans. But in their defense when the decisions were made there was a greater chance of rain.
Penalty's are called for a reason. If you are holding and score a TD or gain extra yards would you if not for the holding? If all these TDs are called back for penalty's then maybe you wouldn't have scored anyway without holding etc!
It’s going to be much harder for Mt. Island Charter to pluck athletes. Those guys have changed to a true lottery system without exceptions for any athletes. Mt. Island Charter football is already in decline because of that change. That change will definitely benefit EG. Mountain Island coaches were not happy with that change. MIC may look more like Highland Tech in the future when it comes to sports.
That was my original point. All I ever heard was that we crapped on Gaffney because we were broke and needed another home game. I guess that wasn’t entirely the truth.
But we have never got the whole truth and nothing but the truth on Jabba the Hut gate or Gaffney.
With the growth of the charter school up there and as the younger grades move into high school, I believe East Gaston will be 2a in the new alignment. I think it won't be the first go round next school year ,but the next alignment it may happen.

Creek will be potentially traveling to Tanks Memorial Stadium in Ironton, Ohio to play Archbishop Moeller out of Cincinnati this Saturday. They are nationally ranked in the #3 team in Ohio. Will definitely be battle tested going into conference.
Over the years, we have lost a bunch of kids to Lincoln and Mecklenburg counties. A few years ago, we did lose a running back from Stanley Middle, who started at Shelby (maybe the best RB in Gaston County).

Coach said that they may have to play in weather another time so this will let the players get a feel for it. He also said they have not had a normal week of preparation to really have their regular practice schedule and they would like to have one heading into con play.
I understand that Smash. I wasn’t being critical at all. Hopefully the forecast changes a little. I understand playing in weather but right now they’re talking monsoon.
