ER wins over Concord 11-3. ER scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth to put it on ice. Among the highlights were Luke Thomas's solo home run and Joaquin Gordon's double down the left field line which drove in two. Samuel Asbill went the distance and got the W.

Despite their record, I didn't think Concord was that bad a team. I overheard a Concord fan say that this was the fifth game in a row in which they only had nine players. Their starting pitcher had a great breaking ball.

Game 2 at AL Brown tomorrow.

ER beats Concord 10-4 to win series. They now play Stanly County in a best of three. Game 1 at Craven on the 12th (Tuesday).

Congrats to Mocksville on 6-4 win over Foothills. Will save Rowan County some mileage in the second round. Jackson Sink ended the game with a strikeout. Mocksville will be at Newman Park tomorrow at 7, and will no doubt be seeing Casey Gouge on the mound.

ER lost a heartbreaker. Down 6-0, ER came all the way back and scored six runs in the bottom of the fourth. However, ER couldn't make anymore progress. Stanly scored on a sac fly in the top of the seventh. ER left a ton on base tonight. Relief pitcher (#5) for Stanly was player of the game (IMO). He came in the bottom of the sixth, got in a bases loaded, no out jam, and pitched himself right out of it.

Kannapolis played a great game........until the bottom of the fifth. Then, Post 45 exploded for six runs. Tanner Marsh started the thing off with a solo shot over left center. Tanner also had a nice performance on the mound.

45 exploded for ten runs in the bottom of the fourth. Braylen Hayes hit a grand slam over left-center. Kannapolis certainly didn't help their cause in the field. Unless K-town plans on bringing in some major league pitchers, I believe this series is all but done.

Tough way to end a season. Curious to know more about this (if the details ever come out).

Not that this could be karma - but I know ER tried to pull something like this against High Point (back in 2016-2018, I believe - somewhere in there). Tried to say that a player was "illegal", but it turns out he wasn't after all.
