I know there is a old thread about the 1A boys that is last years teams and continued for this years teams. Lets start a fresher thread that start how this years teams will be contenders.

Uwharrie is a competitive team. Just seen a few moments as they were at a jamboree but they are competitive
Thomasville played their first game last night and lost to Oak Grove by about 15. OG hurt them with a zone defense and slowed their break. They’ll be better with a few games since, like many 1A schools, their football players just started practice. Tough game with Walkertown coming up, so they need to improve quickly.

Adding Vess and Miller from Patton and bringing back the core from last fall Draughn will be a tough draw. We’ll see tomorrow if I’m right
Amore Connelly went out of the game against E. Burke Friday night with a high ankle injury and didn't return. His status for tomorrow night is uncertain.
Freedom has some shooters but they don’t have the size to match 6’7 Tillery on the wing or rector down low. The post game will favor draughn in this one.
Got a few guys still limping from football and one that has just been released who is starting out with limited minutes but is a starter and playmaker. Dogs will be ready to make a run come playoff time.
Mountain Heritage boys played Enka close the other night. Enka returns a bunch from a 4th round 3A team. Mountain Heritage seemed to go deep every year back when they were 2A but were down a little last year. May be back.
Did the nfhs and que Tucker if the nchsaa really just release a statement about sportsmanship??? They've allowed schools to have "student sections" that harass opposing teams, coaches and referees forever now but wanna preach good behavior??? They have referees with obvious biases and prejudices but they are still allowed to call against teams that complain against them. Oh and let's not forget the schools they allow to recruit and win state championships every year. That's so sportsmanslike of them to allow that isn't it??? Those same schools don't have to adhere to the same transfer rules as our little schools. But yeah, let's preach sportsmanship, Que!!! Smh
100% truth !! A local SMC team has a student section that act like the Duke crazies. They harass opposing teams and officials all night long. Their local paper had the nerve of writing that their student section was just VOCAL !! Their team lost that night and the local paper wrote how bad the opposing team acted after the game. Don’t blame the other team at all after the way they act and to beat it all they put their cheerleaders on the visitors side which is just asking for trouble. It’s easy to show sportsmanship when you are winning but every time this team loses you see a totally different side.
Hayesville. They are the biggest jerks in basketball right along with Union County.
I'll get my first look at Uwharrie tonight. They're coming to PG. Troutman should put on a pretty good show.
Union county had their student section on the visiting side Tuesday.

Rville students TRIED to have a student section on our side one year. Some kids came and tried to ask some of the older folks sitting there if they'd move. They got cussed out real quick and told that they have plenty of room on their side to do that crap and we barely have any seats on ours. Lol

They did that several years ago when we played there. Had one fight in the bleachers then police came over at end of the game and told Andrews crowd they needed to leave. We told them we wasn’t going to leave until we escorted our team to bus. Good thing we had a Federal police officer on our side and he told them what went down and that we wasn’t going anywhere till the players got on the bus. I don’t understand why any school Principal or Coach/Athletic Director or a fan sets or is allowed to set on the visitors side. Eventually there will be a brawl before these school administrators put a stop to it
The transfer from West Caldwell looked pretty good in the loss to freedom there’s not much talk about him
you could tell draughn hadn't practiced much due to the extended football season. I am looking forward to seeing them tonight at full speed with a few more practices.
