It all depends on how our young players progress. Our best post player is only a sophomore and has missed some games. Defense is the calling card. We like to run a full court press/1-3-1 trap and it causes havoc on most teams.
I'm not really sure if I can give a good answer to this question as I've only seen each team once. My impression is that McDowell is a better team, but that a lot of that comes from shooting. I would probably say that the Titans take seven out of ten against the Rockets if you played that often and I wouldn't be at all surprised if you swept them in the regular season.
Watauga is fifth in RPI among 4A west girl's squads and can't be overlooked. But Alexander is currently right behind them in sixth and there's no guarantee that the Lady Pioneers even wins the conference over them. You have to take them seriously because they made a run all the way to the regional finals last year, but then Katie Sears basically kept them in the game with a monster performance. Frankly, Freedom should have beaten them in Morganton last year and only lost in overtime. Watauga plays a tough schedule, but at this point I think the Lady Titans might be in a better position to make a run come playoff time.
I have watched Cherokee's girls play twice already this season they are impressive, they play hard, fast, and they can score from anytime anywhere they should repeat in my opinion as State Champions!! Daisee Forekiller and I hope I spelled that correctly is amazing along with the Joscelyn Stamper girl are good players!!
Yeah, Fourkiller is baller she'd be the best player on a lot of teams, Cherokee just scheduled Winston Salem Christian national on the 20th so hopefully they give them a good game
