What is the status as of now. I see The High, Erwin, Reynolds, and TC in no particular order seem to be battling it out, however, Erwin and Asheville will not play. What would the committee do if The Warriors and Coogs win out?

Would they flip a coin or something like that? I know they are in a3A/4A division like you mentioned?
Since teams are not playing a full schedule, I don't see how there will be an overall conference champion recognized this year. Asheville/TC winner gets 4a and ACR/Erwin winner gets 3a with both being played on the extended day Nov 8th. The next 2 weeks are just for bragging rights and RPI
Thanks for the break down! I fully understand now. I remember when Reynolds, Tuscola, and Asheville had to fight for the two 4A slots back in the day.
ACR and Tuscola the only 2 4A schools in the MAC 1993-1996. Then in 3A you had Asheville, Enka, Erwin, and TC Roberson. The ACR and Tuscola game in all sports decided your playoff fate!!!
Still never forget the 28-24 OT win at Tuscola that got us in the playoffs great games back then between the 2 programs great rivalry
I played from 86-89. Tuscola, ACR, The High held down 4A and Enka, E. Hendo, North Buncombe, Pisgah, and Erwin represented 3A. Those teams were all pretty tough regardless of record.
Yes agreed but the Rockets of ACR ran WNC 1989 4A State Runners up!! That 1999 team had to be one of the best though
A few questions about the WMAC.
1st does ACR still have an independent website like the GOBIGGREEN back in the day? Other than what the TRUE record between the ACR and the HIGH (inside joke lol) this was a outstanding site to for MAC fans. I'm not sure how many play off spots are available.
How do you all seeing that last few games playing out?
How good is The High? Is ACR that much better that TCR, whom the Warriors barely escaped?

Yep. They were the team to beat. Even upset 7th ranked Tuscola that year.
Hell yeah!! Loved that website had alot of information and I could always go back and look at a record if I wanted to know something or wasn't sure!! As far as the TCR game just glad we beat them no love loss there disliked them in high school at ACR and still dislike them!!
I still remember them painting our rocket that one year and they had to come and apologize to our students at school!!
I don’t know how good ANY of these WMAC teams are this year. The sample sizes are too small and Reynolds has had some guys leave. I’m not sure any of us have a deep playoff run in us but you never know.
3A west with Dudley and hickory is brutal and of course we somehow got stuck in the damn 4a west with the same amount of students which is like playing in the NFC North.
I do want to point out once again so nobody forgets that Asheville high did beat Reynolds in 1999 on their home field when they won the state championship and again in 2009 when they won the state championship and also beat them at Reynolds when WE won the state championship in 2005. I don’t want to discuss the 1 point loss to Reynolds on our field in 2002 when they won the state championship.
All kidding aside, I live right near ac Reynolds and you’d be hard pressed to find a better community of people, particularly after this horrible storm. I have run into Shane laws a few times over the years and he’s a very nice guy even after I tell him I played for Asheville high lol

About the website gobiggreen.net sadly it no longer exist. My brother was the one who did all the work on it and he passed away suddenly back in 2020 so the website stopped then. I’ve looked for the info from it but can’t find it. I’m sure he had it on backup Zip drive but I can’t find it.

Thanks for the update! Another thing I like about the GO BIG GREEN site was the weekly picks. I enjoyed the minor jaw busting and trash talk that led to the Rockets and Cougars game. I remember the year BIG DADDY COUGAR dominated the picks. lol.
Quick Question. I watch NFHS to keep in touch with WNC HS Football. I just saw in the Citizen Times that the AHS vs ACR game will be on HUDL. Has anyone used it?
Do anyone know another platform to view Friday's game? I purchased NFHS which allows me to follow the majority of WNC sports. Though AHS home games are covered, however THIS year ACR is not streaming there.
Hudl is the only livestream for ACR. Last I heard it was pretty pricey but they have a very good livestream team with Pat and Chris
