Any thoughts?
My source up that way, say West has 2 bruising backs, and fair defense but want be able to stop the air attack they will face.
Ready to get this thing rolling, I say Shelby by 28

Shelby rolls big. West has two or three solid backs that run hard, QB is a solid athlete that also plays safety but they aren't a threat throwing the ball. Most of their offense is trap right trap left to the fullback and a buck sweep type play to the wing. Defensively they will be no where close to having the athletes to match up five wide against Shelby. They will play ball control and try to keep your offense off the field.

True, I look for West to run the clock down to a few seconds then snap it to keep Shelby’s offense off the field. West will play tough they’ve had a good season.

West is big and physical and they run the ball well. They can throw it better than usual this year. But their problem will be trying to slow down Shelby’s passing attack. They’ll need Shelby to make some mistakes to keep them in the game. I’d say Shelby 42-21.

I usually trust the thoughts of a fan who supports a program that has actually done something throughout their history versus a “Johnny Come Lately” fan who is excited to see their team in the playoffs for 2nd or 3rd time in history. West may beat us, this isn’t one of the top Shelby teams of all time. Shelby is getting better I will attest. So in saying this, I think I will trust Wolf4lyfe’s opinion.

When you talk about a powderpuff schedule look at Hibritens schedule and conference ha ha. LNC coulda got a win or 2 in that conference. When FTF is the 2nd best hands down it speaks volumes. West ain’t as bad off as you think. I wouldn’t write West off by no means. A big time player could get hurt, I hope not but it happens. Fumbles could happen and West could fall on em depending on how the ball boucnes when it falls out. Games HAVE been determined on wheather a ball bounces to the left or to the right. Can’t see it happen in this game but can it?

Ok so I've read the post and I have purposely tried to stay out of it at the request of my son. First off, hats out to Shelby for another good season. You guys turned things around from the first of the year. Shelby is a proven football program in the area. It is an honor and a challenge for West Lincoln to draw you guys in the first round.

Second, everybody has thier own opinion and everyone is entitled to that. My opinion is, I'm not taking anyone advice on a teams ability that has seen said team play once or if at all. A teams fan that is beaten always has a bias opinion.

Third, any given year on any given Friday night under the lights; anything can happen. Weak conference, weak non conference, weaker team than usual means what? It means that those teams just Don't have it this year. Nevermind the facts that we have outscored opponents in and out of our by more points than anyone in our conference or out of it. nevermind the fact that we have put up record breaking school stats. Either way we earned the right to play Shelby. Win or lose these boys have accomplished more than any other team in school history but I guess that is tarnished due to weak competition.

Lastly, to all the Shelby fans reading this post. You have alot of pride in your community and your Shelby Lions. As well as us West Lincoln fans and commend you for that. We will try to bring our A game and give you guys a fight and be competitive for everyone's enjoyment. That's what football is all about. God bless you, your football team and may this be a great football game. Good luck to you Shelby and we will see you Friday.

Lawn dog thank you and thanks to everyone that liked my post. We all get caught up in the wins and loses and who Don't wanna win I get it but in the end these kids are soldiers. Early rise; 2 hours of weight lifting before school, sit in class all day bored out of thier minds, 2-3 hours of football practice and then homework to keep that GPA up in hopes that they can get a scholarship to make things better for them and lift the financial burden of college from the shoulder of us. SOLDIERS, MEN. I am proud every Friday of each and everyone of these kids win or lose. They work thier ass off. Like I said, Shelby is a great competitor and all the best. We all know they are studying each other as we speak on Hudl. Hopefully it will be one that folks talk about for a long time.
