I think it’s starting to move in the right direction the wins will come, more kids are out this year then they’ve been in a long time over 70. They are getting in the weight room and starting to learn how to lift everyone needs to be patient
Well sorry I dont see Monte Simmons taken this program anywhere. Hope I'm wrong but don't think I will be.

Well its definitely not going in the right direction. They made Hibriten look good and they have one of there weaker teams in a while. I hope it will get better at West. With what I'm seeing it want matter if they have 100 kids.

No they didn’t make us think we’re good. We know we’re not not what we have been, it’s sad to be as down as we are and still put a running clock on WC. Oh by the way your other team lost also.
Hibriten is down this year and still put a beat down on West. But Monte will turn it around.

You seriously need counseling. Never seen anyone hate anything as bad as you hate HHS football. You have a problem! For now we’ll just go with what happened last time we played Draughn, because your speculation is idiotical. I sat beside you at a scrimmage in 17 and you literally said “boy Hibriten is in for a long season, not nearly as good as what I thought “. You have no understanding of the game and or kids. By the way where did you go tonight? Did you wear your blue and yellow shirt or your black and gold? Might as well keep the blue and yellow out for Bball cause black and gold won’t last long in Nov. I’ll wear my black and red with pride no matter what riding a 20 year streak!!!
I miss the good West Caldwell football teams they had in the 80s. I would say the 1987 team was the best at West Caldwell. For West Caldwell to turn around the program. Its starts from the higher ups the Principal and the AD to how well they support the athletic program? If i was the Principal at West Caldwell i would most definitely be changing the culture of the program into a good positive direction.
The first thing that the Principal and AD needs to do is find the right coach to lead this program. Some may think Monte Simmons will turn it around but I dont see that happening.
They just had one of the best principles around retire.
He was actually the coach that beat hhs in 2002.
AD has more to do with it.
So you think the WC Principal an AD need to take action and find a new head man to lead the football program instead of Monte? What is your reason behind your statement? Lack of wins, lack of kids interest, etc? Well if ANY of that is your reason you have no leg to stand on as if that is the case then the WC Principal and AD should have addressed the lack of wins and performance in other major sports such as with the West Caldwell Baseball Coaching Staff which has not changed and continually been allowed to not win a game season after season as well as not even having enough interest to field a jv team but yet nothing is judged there by the higher ups for the lack of results. So if you want change you better hold all sports in your school accountable to either a win or else or at the very least be a competitive program to create a healthy environment in that sport for all involved. There is a standard that has to be set for all sports programs you can't single out just the Football program if others are not held at the same standard! Did Monte have a bad game last week sure but the week before you clearly have to say they were for sure were competitive against RS and could have won that game which has not been the case in previous years, so don't just judge a book by it's cover instead read it from start to finish and then see how the story goes!
Football is the money maker, along with BB especially basketball at WC. If you build a good football program other sports will do better. Along with a good football teams comes money, money for other sports to buy equipment, jerseys and so on. Baseball does not make money! The emphasis should be on building a good football program then work on other sports. Maybe Monte just needs backing and support, maybe he just needs community involvement who knows. One things for sure he has participation and the athletes to get the job done. Lots of parents don’t understand without football the other sports would nearly fold, lots of parents donate their time and skill to make it possible for a certain sport to have better facilities, better practice uniforms etc…because there isn’t money in budget. Take care of football and your other sports will get better also!!! So yes the principal and AD have to get on board…
Not sure what the answer is I just know that its terrible to sit through and watch. The numbers are up and they are talent. I hope Monte turns it around I will be glad to come back on here and say that I was wrong. But from what I've seen I dont think he can build a program but again that's just my opinion. And they were competitive against a very bad RS Central team. Hibriten is the weakest they have been in a while and they put 60 points up. And I've judged the book as I have seen it a poor cover with a bad story that I hope gets better.
