Week 2 scores

I’m gonna get beat up for this post
Next week tells us a lot. West stokes and East surry , and Robbinsville vs Mountain Heritage , then North Surry vs South Caldwell. Was on the fence after north surry game and after watching the bears tonight I have to admit I’m some what nervous. New team , new identity but in my eyes a lot has to happen for the bears to make it back to the promise land. Offense has whole new look vs the triple option that had been so successful. Defense is a beast. Offense is on the struggle bus. 22 needs to be strictly defense only , soft as cotton out of backfield. Some what embarrassing considering the size the kid has. Make no mistake about it , beast on defense, backfield just isn’t his gig. Martin is the answer there . This team is fortunate to have a schedule out side of starmount that is like playing a JV squad so getting the snaps and reps is possible. But right now the winning streak ends in the 3rd round to a much lesser team. Hard to say it and type it as I am a faithful fan. Still beat starmount by 21, conference championships aren’t the expectation anymore, state championships are.
The Bears team that I have seen on film the past 2 Fridays will have all they can handle against the Rams. I expect a game within 7 points and Starmount may very well win. In fact I'm predicting that they will. Starmount would have taken it to East Surry in a real game. I saw enough in the practice/scrimmage to tell me that, even with jv players substituted in.

Ask Rough and Mr Man

Well the offense is still trying to find its groove but you can count on one thing the defense is fine. Only gave up 132 yards to north Surry and only 72 yards to East surry. So I don’t think the rams are gonna as much success offensively as you think. They have 3 more weeks to fine tune the offense. It will be a good game. Everyone stay concerned about the bears we like it that way.

Is Asheboro any good? I expected ER to win by more than that
Well, as mentioned above, several things going on besides a football game this week. You never know how teenagers will react on a sports team after having to go to two funerals in one week.
Also a HUGE rivalry game when the city boys come down.
Not to mention, the delay and conditions of field afterwards.
At the end of the day it’s a win against yet another 3A opponent. This early in the season no one knows exactly how good or bad most teams are. But it will all shake out by December…

I agree with you about the defense. It looks good. It is early in the season and teams are still trying to figure things out. I know they will.

Erwin is legit they were huge all the way around and they had a few players that could fly, that Daniel Boone team is a 5 or 6a team out of Tennessee and I'd say beating them 56-0 is no less impressive than what Heritage did to Chase, what's scary is Erwin is mostly sophomores and jrs this year.

You are joking hopefully. It poured in Ramseur yesterday. Watch the weather there buzzy.
And fast track is always better for ER. Remember they were ahead in that game until the big boy went down?
