Way too Early Look for next Year

1A and 2A I agree completely with above post. 3A is also Shelby’s to lose. Too many athletes probably to choose from for the rest to compete. But I guess you could say that about the other two classes as well…
Eastern Randolph COULD make a little noise early on..,
They were actually a very young team this past season. Majority of the skill players, with a couple of exceptions, were sophomores and freshmen. Not sure what the future will hold for the smallest team in 3A…🤷‍♂️

Edenton will be the biggest threat to Tarboro in the east the next four years. Idk if they'll beat them next year though Tarboro while they do graduate a great senior class, does return quite a bit.
Tarboro will have more seniors on the roster next year than they did this year. They should have another good year next year.

In the 2A west:

Corvian loses a lot of seniors, I'm sure they will reload with new players to some degree but have to imagine there will be some level of rebuilding next season.

Deana covered what Starmount has returning, I fully expect the Rams to be in the 2A western regional finals next fall.

Murphy will return a lot from this year's 4th round team, very few seniors. How far they can go depends on the QB situation, if the stud freshman QB gets a fair chance and wins the varsity job next summer then I think Murphy has a chance to be really good and potentially come out of the west, but if the current junior QB is the guy again Murphy will make it about as far as they did this year I'm afraid.

Heritage returns a few major playmakers though I don't know if they'll make a dent in 3a might make it to the second or third round, I think we could have as much success in 3a as Brevards had in 2a the last couple of years

I think the 2A championship showed that next season Shelby isn’t the favorite for 3a, west has some like stigma behind it that their better then the east when their just not. WRH, JK, NE, and whiteville will be very competitive. I think 3a is the most open of the 3

The key for heritage is line play

I actually believe that 3A is Shelby’s to lose, as I stated in the post you quoted. Eastern Randolph has in the past gone both east and west. Northeastern did a great job representing east this season and I know you guys go back and forth but I what was the actual margin of victory in those eastern playoffs? And what was the actual margin in the championship game?
While I don’t think the difference is as wide as some make it out to be, I do believe the west is stronger across the board. Elite teams are just that but when you have to go through five to get to last game it’s a little more difficult than two or three.
That’s not to say the East won’t win 3A next season. Look at Tarboro in 1A. Think everyone would agree the West is much deeper than the East but the Vikings walked the dog on 2nd Corinthians in the SC.
