Way too early East top 10

No disrespect to your opinion but Battle has built a program that will contend for years. Look forward to the big 4 in the East mixing it up. I would like to see SWO to get back to past form
Their JV has been good last few years, especially last year, so you'd figure they gotta be bringing them up and will get better

Princeton put up 58 on ED, and was the only team that beat them all year. And you don't think it's possible they could've beaten Reidsville? hmm.
The answer is simple, Princeton d was lacking to say the least, it really showed in the playoffs. So yes Princeton would have lost to reidsville.

Won't miss the playoffs, but won't be able to make it very deep (in my opinion).
I have already said on there I don't think ED will repeat but there is some really good players returning including the OB and some really good players off JV also. The O line might be better by the end of next year. Hopefully the Henderson can return from the car wreck he would of been a stud on this year's team.
I would bet by the next to the last regular season game that ED will give Wallace all they want. Wallace probably should win but by then everything will be in place and playing well. Come playoffs the Green Central Nash Central likes won't beat them.It will take the Wallace Clinton JK Northeastern types to do it. And those will be a fight. I said I haven't seen our middle schools look this good in years and years so everything is just fine at ED.

@oldway55 , clueless are all the other posters up here with the exception of yourself. At least you are unbiased and I can respect that. Northeastern will be loaded and will be returning almost all everyone. This includes our superstar rb Spencer and big #4 Bell. I can understand leaving out Hertford County and Holmes but to not include NE as a favorite is beyond laughable. Wrh was fortunate to escape ELiz City with a win and they were given a gift when we lost our top player. If Spencer was in the backfield for us that Thursday night there’s no way wrh wins, it wouldn’t even have been close.
Goob Northeastern is definitely in there as a contender. The offence is great but I think some of the decision making is not so great. Just my opinion. Northeastern has to learn that against good teams sometimes you have to win games 21to 14 or 17 to 14 because there are going to be those. If Northeastern could get their defense up to their offense it would be scary.

Oldway, what is it you like so much about the middle school teams? Two of the three feeder schools to ED didn't have enough players to field a team the last two years so they had to combine into one team. The teams were above average but didn't win it all. Seems to me like participation is down and that is a bad thing.

The participation is down most places in football all over for whatever reason. Lots of people were talking about that on here from all over the first of the year. I think the Beulaville team lost one game and the Chinquapin/ Grady lost 2 one being to Beulaville. I think but could be wrong. I believe one of the JK schools won it. But there was the most raw athletes on the field that I have seen in a while for both schools. Plenty of size and speed. It's kinda like the JV team at ED they don't have to win it all to be good when they hit variety. This team that just won state didn't win JV. I'm just looking at the raw talent that the coaches can work with and think its looks way above the normal to me.

Understood but all these DC posters ridicule our program. They all know that they were very lucky to escape here with a win and they know we were missing our best player who was responsible for over 25% of our offense and was averaging 180 yds a game rushing. To say this didn’t factor into our game is beyond laughable and they all know it. I don’t know if we could’ve beaten ED but we sure as heck would’ve beaten wrh, Nash Central, and Princeton if we hadn’t of lost #5. He returns this year as well as big #4 Devaughn Bell who went off against wrh in the playoffs. Our backfield will be one of the best in the east next year if not the best.

I hope you are right. But I went back and looked at the current ED seniors record when they were Freshmen on JV they were pretty good. 8-1 and handily beat SWO, JK, Clinton, and Midway. Only lost to WRH. JV hasn't done so well since then.

I dont think missing your best player made a huge difference. NE had the game in hand, and made some questionable special teams calls later.

Ridicule? Just fighting back the hater’s.

OLD PANTHER. Yes Sir I hope I am too. But you did ask me why I liked our middle schools and I just use the JV as an example. But ED just doesn't have the constant flow of athletes that some schools do and probably never will. The ONLY reason ED is good and competitive the majority of the time is coaching and it's been like that for many years. Even before Battle. But I do believe what I stated about the middle schools.

Goob you want me to tell you how to stop the ridicule as you say. This is it. Make no excuses and BEAT THEM. But you can't talk all the crap and then lose for whatever reason and expect them not to return it.
I like you man but that's it just beat them.

1. East Duplin
2. James Kenan
3. Wallace Rose-Hill

4. Clinton
5. Northeastern
6. Whiteville
7. Princeton
8. Cummings
9. Hertford County
10. West Craven
No way Clinton will be 4th in East barring major injuries. They are my #1 target to beat with a slight edge over JK #2 and WRH #3 with all three being just a sliver between each other in pure athletic talent. Whiteville and NE were both young teams and will probably round out the top 5. Clinton is loaded and should have beat ED this year had they used #10 (6'3, 245 decoy) and/or #2 on that 2 pt. conversion. (Thanks again for that half back pass!) James Kenan and WRH also are loaded returning a stable of great athletes. Only thing that has me putting WRH #3 is losing Pearsall, Love and Montgomery as that is a lot of leadership on the field especially from #1 (3 year starting QB) as I am glad that dude is gone. However, Motsinger will most likely overcome and have them Dogs barking deep into the playoffs with Kerr and Brown. ED who on talent/athletes should probably be in the top 8 or so with losing 8 starting spots on Offense and 9 on Defense; however, with our coaching staff and culture we will reload and most likely pickoff one or two of the top 3 throughout the season from just discipline and execution. Not to mention we have our QB Zack Brown back who will throw even more next year if we can find some boys to catch and of course Elam Moore and Chris Martin! Can't wait to see them come together and make another run. Some young names to start getting familiar with are Lanier, Boney, Hall (Imagine that another Hall!), Jones, Davis, Harper, Scarborough, Judge, and Lawson.

Our playoff record over the last five or so years speaks for itself. Aside from wrh and Reidsville no one else has been able to get the better of our kids. These are two very good teams that we shouldn’t be ashamed of losing to. I agree with Chopper that we had the game in hand and gave it away, I’m not disputing that. I was just making the case of what would’ve been and everyone that was there knows this. NE/Clinton, these will be the top two teams in the east once the season gets going. In my eyes it’s a toss up. I also heard that NE could possibly have a big time qb transfer in. I’m not speaking on it though because it could all be smoke. I learned my lesson a couple years back and won’t be drinking that kool aid as of yet. All eyes 👀 are on the NCC pipeline.

Northeastern is a great program. No doubt. Definitely a contender most every year. And will be in the hunt next year. But those old Wallace guys are tough they don't care if you beat the Kansas City Chiefs you still got to beat them.🤣 Just how it is brother. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year my man.

Injuries are part of the game, to constantly blame a loss of a player that is injured is lame. It may a be true that he would have contributed, but its a non factor, if he does not play.

He's been told that.

I've been to a couple of ED games but never met up with any of the ED faithful on here. We play in non conference next year so there are a some guy's on here I'd like to meet. If you come to West Craven for the JV game I'll be there. We can meet up before the varsity game at ED and eat also.

Thanks Otis. I'm expecting West Craven to have an excellent team next year. In my mind it going to be early measuring stick to what a young ED team can be. Maybe we can meet.

I'm hoping we will be a little better. The JV QB has shown a lot of potential. He will be a sophomore next year but I'm sure he will take the reins of the varsity offense. We have a good group of kids coming up.
