I've seen disturbing video on Facebook of mobile homes being swept through a valley by a torrent of water. Saw the pulp mill in Canton with a lot of water. My heart goes out to you guys. We have dealt with that here in the east a few times. You have our prayers!

I've been fortunate to live in the mountains west of Canton and down east past Havelock. Great communities and the people will rebound. Sucks to go through this epic flooding again there for sure.

Pisgah's football, baseball and softball fields all sit on the banks of the Pigeon River, which crested around 6 p.m. Tuesday amidst the heavy rainfall from Tropical Storm Fred.
Pisgah's academic campus is on higher ground and wasn't damaged by the storm, but the neighborhood and some other local schools by the river were hit massively.
It's unlikely Pisgah Memorial Stadium will be usable this football season.
The Black Bears canceled their Week 1 game at Crest that was scheduled for Friday. Multiple potential sites for future home games are being considered

Hate to hear that. I went by their stadium a couple of years ago and it's beautiful. I saw a picture of a high school stadium on Facebook covered on mud but I don't know where it was at. How about Cherokee's stadium? Was it spared from the flooding? It was beautiful too.
I remember when this happened years back & it was just as terrible then as it is now. Really hate to hear they’re having to go through this all over again, but it is a strong community and they will bounce back better than ever. God speed to the Pisgah community and all those effected.
Looks like they had a tarp over the field. You can see it in a photo in this article from fox news. Somebody said the water was 10 feet deep on the field. To the crossbar on the goal post. The worst thing is the lives that have been lost. Hopefully they can find those missing alive.

Please continue to pray for our Haywood Co brothers and sisters. They have a huge task ahead of them but they are a resilient bunch and will get thru this.
