COACH ROBINSONS TALENTED COUGARS THUS FAR HAVE CAME AWAY WITH WINS RUNNING THEIR CURRENT DEFENSE -WILL COACH ROBINSON HAVE TO SWITCH-UP PLAYERS IN THE SECONDARY TO COVER A TOUGH LINCOLNTON TEAM ON PASS COVERAGE??

I'm just glad that Ltown does not have to make that drive Friday night to the worst visitors stadium in North Carolina, terrible access and very small seating. Really not enough seating to host a play off game unless you have up graded the visitor side?

There's already a thread for this game, but yes, they did upgrade the visitors side. What's up with calling us "the heritage"??

The visitor seating has been upgraded with new aluminum bleachers and meets the states requirements.
As far as access its not like we have a nice flat piece of property to work with like you guys I've seen other mountain stadiums with wosre access.

sorry for the heritage name-its been awhile since ive been on here and that was my bad-i did try and goback to correct the title but it wouldnt allow me to.appologies!!

Visitor side got redone after they went to the state finals. It is still one of the coldest, dampest locations to play football you will find but when you're in a hole, surrounded by white pines, where no sun ever gets there, next to a river, its what you would expect.

BlueVols,

Our stadium is like that. There is a fairly large creek behind the visitors' stands and the South Fork River is maybe a mile. It's only seven or eight blocks from downtown but it's in the edge of the woods in an area that is school property. If the temperature drops below fifty, it can be uncomfortable, because of the dampness. This has been one of the biggest complaints from visitors (and some locals). We aren't twenty five hundred feet above sea level, like Burnsville, but it still gets cold, here, too.

Good Luck to Mtn. Heritage. Lincolnton is a tough place to play. Play your style and don't let them get their pee hot.
I'm thinking on that... Not exactly familiar with the phrase, but I think I catch the gist. I think I like it!

The Wolves can move the ball and their defense is getting better with each game. This will be a tough match up for MH.

If you goto each teams total yardage per each game -both teams had a drop in yards gained as they met-up with tougher teams at the end of regular season-i think #22 on linc team is a tough kid through the gaps-but heritage has strong d line and really quick off the ball-plus heritage reads offense very well and know when to have 8 in the box-will be a good game-alittle edge for lincolnton on the short pass thou that heritage will need to adjust.

Lincolnton has some balance on offense. They do feature the power rushing attack with about 75% of their yds on the ground...you will see a lot of 22. The Wolves normally throw it 10-12 times a game for more than 100 yds, but they can and will throw it more if they need to. Got a 6-4 QB who can throw it accurately and several guys who can catch it. MH will have their hands full.

your right-on that-i noticed linc-pass game is minimal on teams other than the 2 losses when their attempts increased-but its all relative for each team and how strong they are based on the conf they are in-its strange how that works but true to the real strengths of a team on who they play throughout season-and i do have to say there is a difference in class or strength in linc-conference compared to heritage.
i could only find 1 game with thomasville where they played a team that played another team linc played so its hard to matchup besides some season yardage-from rushing-and points allowed

Mt.Heritage is a very good fundamental, disaplinded football team, they had 0 penalties and 0 turnovers against us and we rushed for only 40 yards total, very good OL and DL,they blew us off the ball all night and could never disrupt the timing of they play they were running, and we had 0 running lanes when we had the ball....stop their QB you win,he's a very good and tuff player...they go for 2pts ever time they score and their good at that too,the QB throws a nice ball too,if you key on their QB to much they will hit you with the pass...they never punted against us either they will go for it on 4th down when most other teams won't,not sure if that's because a lack of a kicking game or what, but one of their poster said their special teams were really bad...should be a good game, good luck to both teams

Tvilledawg2370, come over to Lincolnton and watch our game with Mountain Heritage. Might be worth the drive. I wondered where the T'ville guys would probably go, Friday, if they decided to take in a game. It looks like there are some good matchups in that area, particularly West Forsyth at East Forsyth, Richmond at Page and Clinton at Andrews. I think if someone didn't mind the drive, which I don't believe would be too bad, since I-85 would take you the entire way, and if they wanted to get out of town, the best one might be North Davidson at Charlotte Catholic.

If you can't stop #22 for Lincolnton you have little chance....he dictates what the rest of the Wolves O does..............he was rocked pretty hard by us on several occasions but plowed thru us any way for over 175 yds...................On D...the first possession by us...we rolled down the field with us ease to score...they adjusted and we didn't come close again except for a 42 yd FG attempt..Kicking....deep and in endzone a couple of times......with L'ton playing at home...I say the Wolves by 10..........................

I just might do that LINCOLNTON I love watching games there, great atmosphere, fans and I love that bell,I remember tville playing there in the 94 western final and you guys jumped on us early and often think it was like 21-0 first quarter with the help of a guy they called GOO,we made a comeback but it was to little to late,I still think that was one one the best teams I've ever seen, still can't believe they lost the following week to Wallace rose hill, many other Lincolnton fans say the 93 team was better...that's scary to believe

Sounds like a true place to be. Did you play football in your younger days?

Yes,that was a while ago,I played all sports basketball was my first love though, football came later

Very nice! I was never into school sports. My goal was to become a professional surfer out of Cocoa beach FL. Did very well but decided to go into the U.S. Army in 1994. I am still in and serving at Fort Bragg, NC. Like I said I never played nor have a kid in it but I support the coach and the kids at Fairmont.

Being from the inner cities of Chicago and Milwaukee I was around a lot of violence especially gang activity, vice lords,BGD(black gangster disiples),p-stones,Latin Kings and Latin Cobras, sports kept me outa trouble,I was always playing ball weather with a bunch of people on a playground or by myself I loved it

That was all GOD and a blessing
I respect you for making the right choices and being a survivor of your childhood. As a child, that is a tough decision to make. You could have easily been a member of those groups. WOW you were seriously deep in it too.

Lincolnton has punted a total of only 7 times this year. Why? They really haven't needed to. If it is 4th and short (which doesn't happen often) they are going for it....even if it is on the other side of the 50 yd line.

Good luck to the Wolves. S.P. and Lincolnton still playing on Thanksgiving, doesn't get any better. Keep it rolling.

this game was so predictable if 22 can run and heritage qb is zeroed in on-the game is over-period!i
its the class difference of scheduled teams that defines their strengths-goodluck link on your rided to the top.
heritage will be even stronger next year as their qb is only a soph and several wr and lineman are jr so they shall be heard again-great game for both and more experience for these young teams.

Congratulations to the Wolves we had no answer for #22 and #82 the O-line blocked very good also. Hope #77 is ok and ready to go next week think you guys have a very good chance to beat Shelby. Good luck and I will be pulling for you guys next week!

Guys, thanks for saying something. Mountain Heritage is a scrappy team and they hit us hard. I know you'll be back and doing well, next season.

A big thanks to the Wolves for a great effort.
