I'm just the messenger but it looks like the CPC is the strongest 4-A conference from top to bottom. I know they've played a tough schedule with the likes of Grimsley, Weddington, Mooresville, AC Reynolds, Chambers etc... The CPC Conference leader East Forsyth is top 5 yearly. Mt Tabor is top 10 this year and West Forsyth is Top 20 this year but usually top 10. The 4th and 5th place teams will most likely be playoff bound as well with Reagan and RJ Reynolds. You can't sleep on Parkland, Davie or Glenn as our bottom three(Ask Chambers). One of them could slip into the playoffs making 6 teams...Probably Davie

Anyway, I'm bias and I love this conference

People always talk smack about the Metro 4A being weak, but the Metro is right there in the top 5 in the state.

ALL 4 Playoff CPC teams received a home 1st round game do to the strength of the conference. I must say when your 4th Place team beats 9-1 Mooresville and gets a home playoff game that's indicative of a tough conference. Cudos to all of the teams and good luck in the playoffs. Somebody needs to bring home a State Title.

East Forsyth with a bad draw in round 2 against West Forsyth.
Mount Tabor with a bad draw against Indy first round and possibly Hough in the second.

Mt Tabor's road is brutal for a 12 seed. West Forsyth vs East Forsyth possible 2nd Rd will be a great game.

ASK Chambers????? 85% of their coaching staff left after last year. They had a skeleton crew of players returning from last year, and didn't make the playoffs. Ask them what? 🤣

Again, only focus on the transfer portal schools. Those are the only ones who are relevent in the playoffs. As a transfer portal school, EF should be top 5 yearly, along with Hough, Grimsley and Weddington.

Ask them, Do they make the Playoffs at 6-4 with a win over last place CPC conf. Glenn HS. They probably make it...I'm just guessing. You tell me

Just my opinion but a hard draw makes your team tougher and better. The teams with a cakewalk get bumped out in the late rounds
Advantages of having a cake walk.
Better chance of playing in later rounds.
A better chance at being the healthier team deep in the playoffs.
The opportunity to get back ups and jv players playoff experience in the first few rounds of blowouts.
Only having to play your “A” game for a few games versus four straight games, which is tougher to do.
Sometimes the best teams don’t end up playing in December due to having a gauntlet to go through.

There no doubt the Greater Metro has been down esp in football but it’s a overall good solid conference I would have it in top 10-15

There is an easy way to decide who is right and wrong. All you have to do is look at previous year's brackets. I could see arguments for both ways, but I don't know what the stats say.
You could find examples for both cases but if this were true then what’s the point in teams trying to get higher seeds, or everyone spending so much time worrying about RPI, etc?
It doesn’t matter how great a team is anyone would want to have easier early rounds at home instead of drawing tough teams early. I can almost guarantee you Grimsley wouldn’t trade places with Independence. I’m sure Coach Griener feels better about playing Erwin in the third round (no disrespect) than playing in Cleveland County again. Teams care about being the last one standing, not trying to take the tougher path because it makes you “tougher and better” that sounds crazy.
