Hello all, I have to get on here and say thank you all for what the eastern part of NC is doing for Mitchell County and the rest of the mountains. I know u all have probably seen pictures of destruction but they don't do it justice. It's like a bomb has been set off. I m a volunteer firefighter here in Mitchell County and there is fds from eastern NC running calls for us. We all might fuse and fight on here but when something like this happens in our state we all pull together. It's going to be a long time before Mitchell and other counties recover from this. Some many people have lost their lives during this time and I know their is more unaccounted for. Please continue to pray
for Mitchell County and the rest of wnc. Thank you from Western NC

Your neighbors in the foothills have been having several donation pickup places everywhere. I’ve took some stuff the other day. I know we loaded a trailer of donations at our home football game Friday for relief.

Yes, you are right that we come on the board and root for our team and sometimes it can be fun and sometimes heated. But we all are coming together to help our western neighbors get through this disaster.

The jabs and insults are all fun and games up here. Never personal. Shouldn't be, anyway. But this devastation is real life, and even though a decent human being would hate to see it anywhere, it's a different sense of empathy when it hits home, and ALL of NC is home for us.

Prayers from the NWC and myself for all of Western North Carolina.

Never thought I would miss Buzz, but after a week and a half without cell service I was going through withdrawals. He’s like a bad whiskey. Tastes like crap but it still gets drunk😁
Hence the name Buzz. Buzzballs. The only thing more depressing at the register than finding out the price of the hard to find bottle of whiskey at the counter.

First time I have had time to do anything like look at a message board but agree with everything 1984 has said. Thanks and continue to pray there are still many in need and many who have lost loved ones.

Go Mountaineers and all WNC
I’ve had you all in my prayers and it’s glad to see that you’re still with us. My daughter, son in law and 2 month old grandson was in Burnsville. The Saturday after the storm I was able to get to them and bring them back to Andrews to live with me until Burnsville gets town water back. It sure was a sad place in that neck of the woods. We went back Wednesday and took donations and let them visit friends and families. We plan on going back soon and if y’all need anything I can pass it on to our local churches who have been making trips every few days. I know Burnsville are packed with donations and I pray that Mitchell County are receiving as much. Keep me posted and I will pass on any needs to our local people. 🙏🏼
