That was a big time game. We had two huge ints. That carver team was loaded. We came out and ran some wild cat and shot gun to get them a little off after the first half. Thanks for sharing
Coach Craddock gave a great speech before that game as well.
People forget Carver was a great program at one time! I was at this game!
Carver had several players make it to NFL in the past
If only there were videos of the 98 and 2003 Carver teams. Those teams were even better.

Wow! That pre-game speech from Craddock made me want to put the pads on. He could have been a world renown evangelist with that energy. No wonder his teams play hard and are difficult to beat. Also, first time seeing Todd Gurley in High School action. That touchdown run was all on him. Amazing power and determination. Nice TD catch too.
Man, you are right. Carver was loaded with talent back in the day under Keith Wilkes. It makes me ill to see what has happened to football at Carver. A lot of it thanks to Forsyth Co's foolish open enrollment policy and the schools inability to find a coach that can turn that program around, stick it out and build the team up.
Carver beat a really good Lincolnton team the week prior to this game. Lot of people thought Tarboro and Lincolnton were on a collision course that year til Carver said not so fast
Carver beat quite a few teams that were really good that year to get to the title game. I can remember we went to the mall in Winston Salem after the game and I saw a Thomasville fan and he was shocked to hear that we had beaten them.
That was the first home playoff loss for the Wolves since 1995/1996 I believe. That Carver team was something else.
We didn’t get you guys in 10 but we sure got all that we wanted from you all in 2011. Thankfully we had two future nfl players to put us over the top
In 2003 Carver had 3 in the top 20 recruits in the state. They went to UNC, Wake Forest and ECU. Chris Leake from Independence was #1 and Isiah Thomas from Carver #4.
That was about as good of a state championship game as one could ask for. Tarboro is well respected by us Lincolnton folk

Know you're asking me but believe it was Jewon Crowell that went to ECU. Can't remember who went to Wake sadly.

Back in the day they were program to watch! Like to see those kids there now do good.
Mathew Brim 6'6 305 Wake recruit I think he was#14 in state and Crowell was #19. I don't know if related but North Forsyth had Germane Crowell that played for Detroit Lions and he later coached at Carver
Checking on Brim looks like he played 3 years at East Forsyth and transferred to Carver his senior year. So the reverse of what is happening now
