SW Randolph at Trinity

Caught this one last night. I'll get the boring stuff out of the way.......

The girls game was over when I walked into the gym. SWR played some great defense and cruised to victory. The Cougars don't have anyone that really stands out but they play very well together. I can't tell how good they are after last night because Trinity isn't the best measuring stick. My gut tells me they won't beat Randleman though.

Trinity has a pretty good player by the name of Autumn Gentry. She needs to demand a trade.

The guys game was outstanding. It was toe-to-toe most of the way. Dylan Hodges stole a pass with around 20 seconds left and went coast-to-coast to put it on ice for Trinity.

I was very impressed (and surprised) by SWR's performance. If they would've hit their free throws in the fourth, they would've won this game. They "out-Trinitied" Trinity at times. The Cougars were very patient and methodical on offense. They caught the Dogs napping a few times. SW also was able knock down some big time threes. I really liked the play of their guard, Sean Adkins. He's very crafty.

SW's biggest problem was that they had no answer for Trinity point guard Dominic Payne. Payne's a well-built guy who has no trouble scoring inside or out. Trinity also shot well from beyond the arc.

The Bulldogs are 7-0 right now. They are a good team.......but also very beatable. I'm very interested to see how they do against Uwharrie, PG, and ER.
