South Fork - Week 5

The Fork is having a “Lincoln county jamboree” this week with all the Catawba county schools riding over there!

Lincolnton stays home with the Bye week due to Lake Norman Charter only playing JV. Remember the surprising shootout between these two in ‘19. I think it was 42-40 or something like that with the Wolves finally securing the win.

Tough picks this week!.... a prime example of why the South Fork is so fun to watch! Huge games!...and evenly matched teams.
I ain’t ready to make a pick yet... but, I’m working on it!

Y’all figuring a Lincoln county sweep? ....sounds logical.
Believe it not, Newton still has control of their fate.... even having 2 losses! They win out ....They’re in! I’m taking the Red Devils over the Knights because it’s a must win. Playoffs starting early in Spring Ball! This one is gonna be good!

Bandys - West Lincoln is another good one! I’m taking West Lincoln in a low scoring slobberknocker!

Im taking Maiden over East Lincoln in a shootout....because I love shootouts!

I made it out to the the old Tom Brown Stadium Saturday afternoon, and asked a guy about the Creek Gang! He knew a little bit about it lol. Maiden has improved a lot since they played Bandys week 1. Maiden wins against East Lincoln by 2 TDs. Bandys has also improved a lot since week 1. Ive got Bandys by 4 over West Lincoln. North Lincoln will play hard this week after what happened Saturday. I kind of think Newton might have decided to pack up and decided to wait until next year. I’ve got North by 10.

Bandys has improved! East Lincoln was very fortunate to win last Friday. #24 for the Mustangs....”Mighty Mouse” McConnell was something else! Wasn’t he?

He was. I looked on Max Preps and they have him listed at 5’7”!! He’s tough fast, and knows how to get open. But we gifted them that win. Maybe they played just played bad, but we had two really bad plays and handed them 14 points. But, good teams don’t do that and Bandys isn’t quite there yet. I was so happy to see Culliver catch that 90 yard TD. If he can keep his head on straight we will see him somewhere in the ACC in a few years.

We know Chris very well, and Chris went with my son to his qb training almost every week before he and his family decided to move. There are absolutely no hard feelings. They made a move that was best for their family. We made a deal with Chris when we played. If he got an int from my son he wouldn’t take it to the house 😂. He did run it all the way back but luckily there was a penalty.

Pick 6 on a 4th down backside screen. 14-3 Maiden. 11:18 remaining in the first half.
 
Maiden turnover on downs, then East Lincoln 3 and out. Maiden ball with 4:58 left in the 3rd
 
Gotta feeling....another shootout coming next week! Newton had to of...bowed up! North Lincoln is stout! A huge win for the Red Devils!

Congrats to Maiden and their faithful. I know everybody, there, is excited. Newton-Conover seems to be improving but I couldn't imagine it would be nearly enough to stay with the Blue Devils who are red hot.

We couldn’t shake them off! Lincolnton!
East Lincoln was stuck on us like a tick! Great ballgame! 3 hours of offense! I enjoyed every minute of it!
 
I’m glad you enjoyed it MC. It must feel awfully good to be a Blue Devil, today.
I got to listen to some of it. They outscored a potent EL offense and solved the riddle of a tight, stingy defense.
The Mustangs made a valiant effort but this is Maiden’s year. They just got what it takes. I believe they’d match up well with NC Preps top five teams.
