Appreciate that my man. I may know a lot bout plays but not a whole lot and some rules and regs but didn’t know that at all. A coworker told me this morning whose son plays for Hibriten. Then i see your post later on. I’m educated more now thanks guys.
He has gotten compared to the likes of Goo Wyatt and CJ Wilson if that helps give you any idea how special this kid can be. While I can't say I am happy he's at North for now I'm excited to see what he does. I wouldn't expect him to stay at north for long though. To add to this all what kinda player is Williams? A bulldozer RB, a lean mean trackstar scat back, a mix of both with size and speed? - we’ll that last one is doubtful cause kids have to mature and grow in size n strength going from 8th to 10th grade and a lot of that develops and shapes up during that time frame.
I’m guessing he’s speedy cause someone, may have been Wolf, said Bazzel should use him at QB to play the option better. I hope he can throw cause not all teams have big fast hogs to keep him blocked to pull that off every play. Will need some pocket time too.
As much as I hate to keep bringing Shatley up, even in all his accomplishments he played JV his freshman year (whole season I believe) to get groomed and of course he wasn’t as tall and thick and fast then as he was as a jr an sr. But for North, with less kids to play, and need immediate results cause of cribb and a few good ones leaving after Nov.. or Dec lol, they’ll have to throw him in the fire early. I think Gee Witherspoon of Hibriten(don’t quote me on this) played JV his freshman year too. We could go on and on but if Williams is an instant impact and warhorse it’ll just make him look better getting yards and tds just being a freshman.

Sounds highly unusual for Lincolnton. Not sure what’s going on with that. Kids not caring and playing video games and cell phones. SmhLooks like numbers are down at Lincolnton. Depth will be a major issue for us this season and I'm afraid that were going to have a lot of kids going both ways. The state of football in Lincolnton isn't looking too good as the middle school barley has enough to field a team.

Same issue in Lenoir, hibritens numbers are up this year, but i would guess same group of guys will play most of the time. Have heard West caldwell maybe would not have jv team this year? Wish we could just combine hhs and west make one big 4a school i think we could compete.
I am not really sure what the lack of excitement is but I believe it is because the talent pool is starting to run out a bit. I heard that the annual football camp that we do with the city had maybe 30 kids total out there. I think it would help if some former players came back and helped in the community because we have certainly lost the "L-Town Swagger".
I'm a little surprised to see how many folks are picking WL last in the conference. They have most of their players returning including their two running backs and QB. I think they will end up in the middle of the pack in the conference (4th or 5th). Their QB actually has a good arm....but they don't let him throw it enough in their run orientated attack. If they they would they might could finish higher.
We got a big freshman running back from East who will get a lot of carries on varsity to spell Littlejohn. We are thin in numbers but have some pretty good athletes
We just have high standards around these parts lol. I think it will take some time but by playoff time if everyone is healthy we could make some noise.Key word wolf- athletes. They always have em’ and they always get coached well. They’ll throw the ball better by game 3 or 4 I’m sure. I suspect they’ll be ok lol.
Goo Wyatt played at Lincolnton in the early 90s. I think it was 93 thru 95. At the end of his freshman year they brought him up from the JVs for a playoff game and gave him a few carries (I think around 10) and he rushed for 100 yards.CJ wilson I remember. Goo Wyatt you’ll have to inform me of when he played. Lincolnton always has good RBs. Even some of the least tallented woulda been stars at North lol.

His sophomore year he had one of the best years of any Lincolnton player ever. It was so outstanding that he was runner up for NC player of the year. He wasn't that big but had great speed, elusiveness and balance. He scored lots of TDs not only on offense but also on special teams and defense....returning fumbles, interceptions, punts and kickoffs. I think he had 7 return TDs that season. He was a threat to take it to the house every time he touched the ball.
He followed that up with a good junior season. Unfortunately following his junior season, he got in trouble with the law and never played another HS football game or college ball.
TA MclendonI met a former Hibriten player that sorta fell into the same thing. That real good Albemarel player went to a practice squad, I forgot his name, played for NC State then he got in trouble. It can happen to people.
TA Mclendon
just got word that Lincolnton only has 6 freshmen out at practice right now. Not good.
What is qb situation at east this year?
What is qb situation at east this year?[/QUOTE
The qb from last year is back as a senior
They will have Sidney Dollar back this year so he will be the vocal point of the offenseThought he started slowly, but came on a little better as of late? Still not standard of qbs to come through east, throws the ball nicely, but not much of a run threat.

Top 3 in the conference will be Lincolnton, East, and Maiden but I don't know about the order. It doesn't hurt when you have an experienced qb back with a weapon like Dollar back on the field.U guys see EL finishing top 2 with this QB at hand?
