Way too early and I don't expect a lot of comments but the few we may get is Maiden Maiden Maiden with Lincolnton and EL taking 2nd and 3rd or vice versa and the rest up for grabs. Bandys would usually be at the top and with the athletes they always seem to bring out very well could be. Cant coach speed and strength is either natural or improved on. With popular coach Nick Bazzel taking the helm at North Lincoln one would think maybe they'll be a top three finish, but most likely not this year. I plan on making one for Hibriten's conference but as with this one and that one, the comments are on you guys cause I'm just a tri county area spectator that jumps around to different games depending on the hype, what's at stake, and of course close to even matched or upset potential.
1. Maiden- they're Maiden, they lose seniors and still surprise. Early sweet 16 pick in Charlotte Observer, fantastic JV team last year, i'd give em this pick.
2. Lincolnton- always a class act, always athletes everyone says that about every year as far as the athletes. Some down years but never stay down. Will pull ahead in the EL/Lincolnton series, or should anyway.
3. EL- benefit of the doubt kinda team. Putting them ahead of N-C due to new coach and people leaving at Newton.
4. Bandys- Started to put them below Newton but this school has potential. I could be dead wrong and have been in the past in my early pickins'
5. Newton- like was already mentioned, new coach, people leaving, drama going on im sure that I don't care to know but I see them bouncing back. Pack has better athletes to work with so we'll see what happens. May surprise people and be top 3 but I'm going with 5 for right now.
6.North Lincoln- decent JV's last year, great D1 RB in Cribb, maybe a couple surprise and improved players out to avenge a bad season. Needs a QB so expect a lot of ground and pound. Defense way too porous last year, coulda won 3 to 4 more games that were reasonably close and winnable. Nick Bazzel may surprise but will have a tall order. Could finish 4th at VERY best.
7. LNC- the athletes are there, but with the factors I forsee for rest of conf and last years finish they go here.
8. WL- out on a limb on this one giving LNC benefit of the doubt. 2 great RB's last year, don't know if they graduated or not.
Could it finish in this order, most likely yes but that's why we play the game. Lets have some fun with this guys, fill in.
