Andrews at Brevard

Trinity Tenn. at Cherokee.

Robbinsville at Smoky Mtn.

Hayesville at Towns Co.

Hendersonville at Murphy.

Shannon Forest at Rosman.

Swain Co. at Hapeville Charter

Dang. The Devils CANNOT cough up the ball every other possession and win.

They're only down 7-0 so far, by the grace of God, but they have to find the handle and hang on to it...

End of the 1st: Hapeville 7, Swain 0.

Devils on the positive side of the turnover ledger with Bowers's pick. Swain's ball at the Hapeville 38.

Hm. I think Hapeville just called their 4th timeout of the first half... do Georgia officials have counting problems?

Swain with their 2nd pick of the half, right before halftime. Looks like 14-7 Swain at the half.

Well we should know some of that kinda happens in the first game of the year. Tell me how we are doing, line holding up. Keeping Hapeville's speed in check?? you know the football stuff. I personally thought we'd have another score on'em by know.

OMD, it took us a couple drives to get the nerves out. QB had trouble pitching out, but has that under control now. Secondary has let some big plays happen, but has also had 2INTS so far, so I guess you could say it's 50/50 on them right now. The line has held up well, not allowing anything up the middle and have gotten into the backfield quite a few times to pressure the QB (who is fairly quick and has a nice arm on him).

I'd say this Hapeville team would fit in down east. A lot of speed to the edges and like to juke back and forth when they get the ball.

We seem to be holding our own defensively. Pass coverage is getting the job done against the spread, with two picks in the 2nd quarter.

And after the three early fumbles in the 1st (lost 2, recovered 1), we seem to be hanging on to the ball better. We are getting 3-4 yards a carry between the tackles, and getting lucky occasionally outside too. It's a typical Swain power-vs-speed game: the Devils give up yards and points early, but they adjust and start shutting the opposition down on D and wearing them out on O. Good to see the adjustments getting made in the 1st half. Experience tells.

Nice, I wish I was there! Sounds like Hapeville has a better team than I thought.

Yeah, wish I was there, too... but work jumped up and decided it wanted me not to go. :( Watching the broadcast... we are lucky to have that option :)

And I think Hapeville has picked up their game from previous years. They are quick and can throw the ball, but don't have much of a ground game.

Man..Murphy was driving again and Murphy fumbled on the Hendersonville 9yrd line and murphys offense is very impressive tonight. That o-line is a beast! Still 28-21 and Hendersonville ball

Hapeville 20, Swain 14. Hapeville scores on a QB scramble and pass after a picked-up bobble.

First play after the kickoff, #44 for Swain takes it about 40 yards down to the Hapeville 27. This is definitely an early-season game....

Andrews up on Brevard 20-6 in 4th. Wildcats just ended a Blue Devils drive with a pick and return back across midfield.

Swain 20, Hapeville 20. Both teams failed to convert their last point-afters... all knotted up.

Murphy stopped Hendersonville on downs inside Murphy territory. Murphy driving now in the 4th quarter. Murphy still up 28-21

3rd quarter in the books in Hapeville... all knotted up at 20.

#18 replaces #10 at QB for Hapeville. From the looks of it, that's going to hurt Hapeville on offense... he was fast and slick and had a good arm.

Murphy has 386 total yards thru 3 quarters.
220 yards rushing to hendersonvilles 160
Murphy 160 yards passing to hendersonvilles 150 or so.

Hope the turnover doesn't ruin the game for Murphy. They've really come out ready to play tonight. Hate to see this game be a loss because of that turnover.
