So no credit to Hayesville for playing hard and winning with all the injuries etc. the QB is a sophomore in his second start and just came off ac sprain. The original qb plays safety now because he can’t lift his right arm but a brace is working. Hayesville played tough. Swain line is best hayesville has seen. Was a hard hitting game. Arm chair guys always blame coaching.

Anyway, the comment has nothing to do with Hayesville, it is on the state of Swain football as a whole. Anyone with eyes can see that over the past few years the team has been held back tremendously by coaching and have lost many games they should’ve won as a direct result and perhaps even a title. That said yes of course congrats to Hayesville, any win is a good win and I hope y’all go far, I always root for our own when they aren’t lined up against us.

As others have mentioned there are some real good linemen, #6 can tote the rock and has some flash. The D plays well as a whole and it’s tough to tell who can do what on the offense apart from #6 because it is incredibly dysfunctional at the moment.

There’s no “practically” here, they didn’t. If that was due to talent there would be more than 2 points scored for each opponent.

I agree with you that the talent on our team is better than what is showing up on Friday nights. We should not have lost to Andrews or Hayesville, no disrespect intended to either school. It is hard to watch all the miscues and missed opportunities directly influenced by coaching or lack thereof.

That was a good gritty win for Murphy, the defense had a very good performance, but overall certainly made more difficult by the mistakes at the QB position. I hate to say it, but said QB play ultimately puts a cap and a ceiling on what this team can achieve come playoff time.

Yes same QB as last year. The Mount Airy game is easily his career best game.
