This is the 3A version of this post if you looked at the other ones. I wanted to give a shout out to the big guys up front. It's been a long season and this prize is within reach. With so much focus on the stars and the athletes of each team it is easy to lose sight of the great battles in the trenches. This game has the makings to be a great battle in the trench. West Charlotte has few bigger guys, but this seems to be battle of speed and technique verses sheer brute man moving force.

West Charlotte: These guys have risen to the call of protecting their sophomore QB and allowed him to flourish passing for 2539 yards this year. A bevy of RB's have carried the ball for WC while the OL paved the way for them to amass 1982 rushing yards. That is good for 313 yards per game on offense, and an average of 41 points. Shout out to the defense of WC as well they average giving up 8 ppg. Hough scored 40 and Hickory scored 20 against them, those are the highest point totals all year. They have also had 6 shutouts this year as well. Impressive.

71st: These dudes are big and they move pretty well. They have paved the way for their QB Nance to throw for 1477 yards and rush for 1398 yards. They also have now for the second year in a row 3 guys with over 1000 yards rushing. That's impressive no matter which way to slice it. Also Nance is one of the most electric players in the state. Offensively the Falcons have rushed for 4839 yards and will more than likely eclipse the 5000 yard mark this weekend. They average 422 yards per game and score 45 a game. 71st defense is also very good only giving up 7 ppg. They gave 6 shutouts as well and the most anyone has scored on them is Richmond in game at 28 points.

This is a classic game of something's got to give. Two very good defenses and two different offenses. WC takes what they get and they are good at capitalizing on the opportunities their defense creates for them. 71st is as well and they have 3 headed monster in their backfield between their QB and two main RB's.

Massey has this game at 35-21 West Charlotte. I'm not sure about that one. 35 points may be hard to come by this game. The question is which unit takes over the game?
