Give me the old Cleveland Browns with Jim brown running the ball then we'll see how good the Shelby run defense really is...other than that Shelby would totally destroy the brownies...worst organization in ALL of sports

Shelby has a right to be boastful and confident. I'm not sure during the current 3 peat a 2a team has came within single digits, I could be wrong on that though.

Well, considering Jim Brown is 80 years old, and his teammates are of a similar age, I'll take Shelby.
Since we began our current title streak back in 2013 the Golden Lions against 2a competition is averaging 45 ppg and giving up 12ppg
Also in just playoff competition since 2013 we average 42 ppg and give up 11ppg...
So far this season: 42ppg offensively and have given up 8 defensively..... We give up less than 50 rushing a game at about 1 yard per rush.... 118 yards per game total...
You are correct no 2a team since our streak started in 2013 has come within single digits of us... Closest is Reidsville at 10 in 2014 in the playoffs....
PS: We'd kill Carolina Panthers this year.... bottom line.... HA HA HA....
We have two more games to win versus some stout opponents. The Western Championship will be the state championship, though. You can bet that.
Serious question, though. With all of this back and forth going on, I've noticed one thing that we all have in common are state championships, Reidsville, Shelby, Clinton, Monroe, Thomasville, Lincolnton, and East Lincoln. The elephant in the room, though, is East Duplin. Help a brotha out here, seriously, and pardon my ingnorance in advance if they indeed have, but have they ever won a state championship? I'd seriously like to know? I know very little about the Panthers.

its ok to admit, you pull for an inferior team, one that every year has high hopes, only to be dashed by the Clinton types of the East.. To answer your previous post, no, East Duplin has not won a title in football. They've had great teams, only to run into Clinton in the playoffs. The Clinton/East games were akin to Shelby/Crest games as far as crowds go. I'm always a Dark Horse, but have always respected the folks down in Beaulaville. I remember a few years back when there were a few Southwest Onslow posters making the same type of comments as some of the current Shelby posters, which I suppose, is their right. Until someone knocks them off the throne, Shelby is the king of 2A football, but eventually and inevitably, they will be knocked off. By which team, who knows, but it will happen as it has with the SWO's, the Reidsvilles and the Clintons.
Dead right... We all know this run we are on will end eventually..... We wear our big boy pants also and know when we do lose, some folks will have a field day, and that's ok.... It wont be the end of the world when we lose, we will still be here jawing back and forth with everyone......
With that said, everyone knows you beat this Shelby team, you've done something special....... We are at the top, its our job to try and stay there, and everyone else in 2a's job to kick our butts off the mountain... Will it happen eventually, absolutely, nothing is forever (well South Point fans drooling in their tapioca pudding is forever) but other than that, we know it ends eventually.... But what a ride it has been......

In all seriousness, do Shelby posters keep and eye on scores on Friday nights to keep a lookout on how teams are playing or are y'all like there is no need cause it don't matter who we play. Not just messing around, serious question. I can't speak for most fans or teams, but I myself look at how Shelby is doing and other teams we could possibly face going forward.
Absolutely! Don't get it twisted, and take banter and personal opinions as disrespect. I follow Reidsville and Clinton annually, two great programs rich in tradition. Every Friday night, while at the game, I peep in on games involving Reidsville, Clinton, Lincolnton, and now obviously, Monroe, Huss, and East Lincoln. I look at teams we could possibly face. I absolutely love some high school football.

I always look at possible match ups . One thing I have learned over many years is to look at one game at a time . Shelby , Clinton , Reidsville , Lincolnton , Monroe and East Lincoln have been to the big dance frequently and lately so a lot of talk on here is just that , talk ! US fans has a tremendous amount of respect for the other teams . Shelby 's run will end and some other team will take over as the big dog . Until that happens , go Lions and spank Huss and Monroe then lay an arse whipping on Clinton !
