Andrews has beaten some really stout teams. Comparing teams over the years is unfair as many teams in 2017 are better than teams in 2022. Many programs have slipped across the board. I would love to see Andrews and Mount Airy play.
That’s really not the point I’m trying to make. It isn’t a fair comparison. But that’s exactly what it is. A comparison. That’s it.

Ok we will go with that. I guess when Cherokee won the SHIP in 2017 it was by luck because they wasn’t on the list of “ knows what it takes “ to win the ship. Whatever you all think, I just get a good laugh out of how childish you all sound. Again this is 2022 SMC play with one game to go. No one and I say No one from Andrews has said anything. No one even posted a score tonight. Carry on I’m out of here

Murphy looked better but some of that might of been Robbinsville just being flat last week. We looked better this week and held Andrews offense to 21 points.

This thread just proves my point that people can’t accept the fact that Andrews is actually good. It’s always “what if so and so was healthy” and millions of other excuses. People are acting like Andrews beating Robbinsville 28-12 just isn’t enough or something. It makes no sense to me. Has it occurred to y’all that Andrews might actually be THAT GOOD?
Don’t think anyone is doubting Andrews. Everyone knows they are good………
Murphy had their own flat game tonight. If they come out with the same energy as they did tonight it will get ugly for them next week
Andrews has had some great talent over the years but it’s hard to win when your team has under 20 players. No disrespect to other teams but I’ve watched them send in a whole new starting 11 before when Andrews has to play the same people on both sides of the ball.
I was mostly talking about the guy saying Andrews couldn’t beat past teams, I just don’t see the point in comparing teams from the past to now. That’s like comparing the 2022 Eagles to the 2007 patriots. It just don’t work.
Lol comparisons are made based off opinion….. obviously we won’t ever see the games played but it’s fair for people to compare. That’s all it is. A comparison.
Albemarle is not that bad this year. Very young with maybe 4 seniors. They play in a split 1A-2A conference and was competitive with every 2A school with the exception of JM Robinson and outscored the other 1A teams in their conference 96-0.
If Murphy plays like they did against us?

I think Andrews still beats Murphy. Robbinsville completely sold out on the run obviously… (wouldn’t expect anything less it’s obviously SMC football where they run the ball 90% of the time) but I don’t know if Robbinsville lined up with a deep safety all night long. The biggest difference in Andrews and Robbinsville is pass coverage. They can defend the pass, we still seemingly can’t.
These comments lol. Historic season for the Cats, congratulations. Every team in the conference has had off nights this year, everybody. I’ll take an ugly win over a close loss any day. Murphy vs Andrews next week. Should be a packed out SMC classic.
This Owen fan bragged that Owen should have won that game although Albemarle took them to the woodshed. The Owen fan has an explanation for of their woes.

Those are 3 great backs right there. To very different styles of defense. Robbinsville was sold out to stop the run and Andrews played two deep safety's about the whole game. I thought robbinsville played a more disciplined game. Andrews probably had over 100 yds in penalties. 2 times when they got the 1st on 4th down and ended up having to punt. No one will want to play either team in the playoffs!
Yeah I feel like without the pick 6 and the correct spot on the fake punt the game could have been very close.
Defensive games tend to make games look ugly at any level. Most people want a high scoring affair and think the game was less because it wasn’t the customary high potent offense. I seen some stats posted earlier and I seen a comment that had some what if’s could have changed the game. I could counter with my own opinions but it wouldn’t change the outcome. Boils down to a hard nosed football game with Andrews making more plays offensively, defensively & special teams. Best of luck to Robbinsville the rest of the way
Andrews played a slow game last night, they ran the clock instead of fast paced offense. And it would have been 35-12 but Andrews kneeled it in the red zone with almost 2 minutes left. That was a great team that we played, the best team we’ve played other than Mitchell.
But but... Robbinsville the best school in the state and plays the toughest schedule...
