Surprised by the loss but not that you turn it over that many times and lose. Just curious if those turnovers were on tosses or fumbles after the handoff?

Its so crazy how Raider fans act now. Before it was championship or bust. Now its oh we got to the playoffs and we are ok to lose to Scotland. This is embarrassing. Im a die hard Raider fan. I get upset when we lose and I have a deep pit in my stomach when we lose. I wasnt at the game last night, but raiderlaw, I heard every down. You cant tell me this is not embarassing. The one game where the defense plays EXCEPTIONALLY well, the offense and special teams decides to have 12 turnovers with 8 lost. I dont care if the offense had 300 or 400 yards of offense, they lost 7 turnovers!. So what makes you think that is a good game for the offense? I dont care if they rolled that amount of yards, the fact remains, they lost 7 turnovers. I would classify that as embarassing for the offense. Just my opinionOriginally posted by raiderLAW:
.........if close to 400 yards of total offense is embarrassing then I will be embarrassed every week.....question for you......football IQ test.....did Richmond's offense work tonight?Originally posted by FUN N' GUN:
The way the offense played! We're you not watching the same game everyone else saw?
...yes..it makes sense....point?...the offense works...has all year....fumbles?...it is what it is....haven't had that problem up to last nights game....and embarrassed?.....nah.....people need to temper there expectations for 15, 16, 17 year old kids.....winning championships is fun and should be the standard...but being realistic and realizing that it ain't gonna happen every year is a sensible approach.....but opinions are like...well you know!Originally posted by GreenandGold:

Another thing, if the JV QB led you down the field with a TD drive WITH NO FUMBLES right before the half, tell me why you would put the starting QB in for the rest of the game? Honestly, do you think that makes sense?
On the TD drive with no fumbles - one hand off got to the running back on first bounce and two of the pitches were bobbled I was there and saw what happened the Raiders were very lucky on that drive.Originally posted by GreenandGold:

In the third quarter the Raiders were taking over the game and the refs got involved three bad calls in a three minute period changed the outcome just my opinion.
Well that and the offense changed game plans in the third quarter. Stopped running the belly option and just gave the ball to the back up the middle and we marched up the field. Seems like we had a turnover to stop that drive too.
On the next series, Millbrook defense adjusted by putting 8 in the box and we failed to adjust to their adjustment until after another 3 and out series. After seeing Millbrook put 8 in the box to counter our adjustment, a simple play action fake and pass would have made them get back out of that stacked defense but we failed to adjust to their adjustment until later.
But we need to give the Raider defense a ton of credit. They were put behind the 8 ball so many times and frankly did a great job considering.
Even so, on any other night, Richmond wins by 20+ points. It just wasn't meant to be no matter who you blame.
both....had more turnovers last night then the season combined...if that tells the story...Originally posted by Godevilsgo:

No I was not at the game. Just curious about the turnovers. Doesn't seem normal to have that many turnovers from Richmond. Sometimes pitches are defended well and make for difficult timing issues. If teams know there are only a few passes thrown in a game they defend the option a bit better. In that scenario I stated timing issues bring some unexpected miscues.
Here at N-C we ran the option up until this year and one of our conference foes seemed to put a kink in our offense by disrupting the toss.
sadly....one of those nights.....several fumbles were from the backs pushing for those extra yards...a couple of bad pitches and hand-offs also.....Originally posted by portcity FB:
Was Millbrook doing a good job stripping the ball or putting a helmet on the ball or was it just one of those nights?
...it was one of those "any given Friday night".....Originally posted by mrhonda:
I feel for Raider fans. It's awful when you're moving the ball and turnovers kill you. Unfortunately, it was one of those nights. They happen. The Raiders have no need to hang their heads. Don't let others mock you or come down on you. These nights happen. What strikes me is after all those turnovers, Millbrook still only wins by one point. Amazing.
