The reason Don Howard & the Worm didn't get D1 offers was not for lack of trying by staff. Don was a little under radar until last year but I know he was promoted to every school that came by. Great kid who if he stays healthy will have a fine career at VSU.

Same or more so for Poole. I am pretty sure VMI offered Worm and Elon was also in the mix. He was/is a baller and everyone knows it. Sometimes the "big boys" get too caught up in the measurables. Too short was the knock on him.

The grass always seems greener but believe me, it ain't.

I spoke to Don and the GW staff did promote him very well. He had around 15 D2 offers. Cody does a great job as recruiting coordinator. It’s more so of the D1 colleges just aren’t buying in to the Southside like they have in the past. Other than the kid at Dan River who has a JMU and UVA offer, you have to go to Reidsville to find multiple D1 offers. If you ask me, GW has quite a few worthy and Bassett as well.

I won’t disagree w you Bo but that isn’t the fault of anyone at GW. I also don’t think there is any magic at Reidsville. Both are good programs w great traditions. Too bad they don’t play every year.

We'll see what VHSL does with realignment. The NC calendar is a week ahead of us too. AD's will need to communicate.

I agree. Would love to see it happen more in basketball and football. Would be some great crowds as well.
