Reidsville Rams RB/LB Jariell Cobb Offered by UNC

Jariel probably had about 10 offers or more on total . He had Ivy League offers, hbcu offers and the likes of Marshall and app state . He had a Louisville offer, idk if they rescinded it or not.

But I’m pretty sure he will probably take the unc offer if I had to guess.

In the long term, I would think, that sheepskin from the academy would be worth more.
Not to mention the character molding.

Would you rather take 100k right now, or a penny a day, doubled every day, for 30 days?

Thats the best analogy I can come up with for this.

With big-time schools like Ivy League and tough competition like Louisville throwin' offers, he got a lot on his plate. It's real nice he’s gettin’ props from all them different schools, shows he put in that grind and got mad skills.

I agree that with him
Going down was probably gonna cost a state championship but losing to East Rutherford is ridiculous with or without him…..
They were NOT going to win a state championship with or without him. They had Cobb and struggled with West Stokes and Walkertown. They were weak in the trenches on both sides and weak at linebacker. East Rutherford was already good at slowing down run games, and their DB's overachieved in shutting down the Rams in the air. Forest Hills, Shelby, Monroe, and Brevard would have eaten them up for snacks.

Some of you Triad citizens starting to sound like those guys out east. Stop

But my POINT was it definitely wasn’t happening with out him all I said. Do I think we would’ve won with him, no.

Should have run the spread offense the entire game against ER without Cobb. Offensive game plan was terrible. Didn't score once in the 1st half. Defense wasn't good but, no way Reidsville should have lost that game. No way. I haven't posted once since that game , don't post much anyway, probably won't post again this year. I stand by my statement.

That was not a Reidsville defense that I've seen in the past. Did not want to hit at times. Coaches shouldn't allow players arguing calls. That's their job.

Your wrong sit

Lots of business decisions in that game. From more than 1.
Some of these high school players don't yet understand that schools are not going to lay out the big $$$$ if they have questions about attitude/maturity issues. Unfortunately, some will not understand why these matters are important until it's too late for them.

Much less risk to sign players in the portal with known factors.

Ive said it on here before, but kids only get away with what their coaches allow them to get away with.

Coaches ain't just huntin' for skills, they want folks who vibe with the team and ready to level up, on the field and off. That saying 'bout kids slippin' by on what coaches let slide? It hits hard on how coaching shapes a player’s game. Coaches be makin' a big difference, moldin' attitudes and teachin' what it means to ride for the team.

I listened to a good interview with Isiah Evans and his mom before coming to Duke. They grew up UNC fans but thought this would be best route for Isiah. He wanted to compete to get on the court.
