Do not rule it out, but I doubt it will come to fruition.

There is no good reason for a 2A school and 4AA school, which are nearly 2 hours apart, to schedule games with each other. It really makes no sense for Mallard Creek, being there are top lower-A programs in their on region (Shelby, Crest, Monroe, South Point come to mind). Its flattering that when looking for big name competition the Rams get mentioned, but there are closer, more logistical options around.

For Reidsville, it shows how many larger teams in the Triad do not want to schedule the Rams. For some reason over the years, 4A schools do not want a series with the Rams. Grimsley, Person County, GW Danville (VA), and NW Guilford are the only 4A schools I can remember being on the schedule since we became 2A in 1997.

So that must mean we are dropping someone from the schedule, if we are even in talks. I'd hope to keep nwg and Northern.

I know next season we are replacing NE Guilford with HP Andrews. Northern and NW Guilford should be on the schedule next two years until realignment.

I'm glad Neg is off the schedule they've been good in the past, but they have hit a major rough patch. I wanted to replace them with about anyone. I don't see where we would have any room for Mallard Creek if we scheduled Hpa.

I heard that Reidsville is playing Dudley and HP Andrews next year. Not sure who they are replacing

Reidsville could stick around Dudley much like Carver this pass season don't see it with Mallard Creek though

Reidsville schedule is set … High Point Andrews replaces NE Guilford. Northern and Northwest are still on schedule.

Yeah the schedule is a lot tougher now. Was kind of hoping to play Dudley, Morehead should be pretty good too.

I am still in awe as to why Reidsville players do not get recruited as prospects by colleges. Rankin I thought was on the radar his fresh/soph year as a linebacker. Kenzell Doe went to Wisconsin at some point and did some good things. Jerome Simpson ended up at Coastal Carolina and the NFL (background besides the matter). Is it academics that keep these talented guys from moving on to Power 5 schools? NC State would have welcomed any of those guys, but I know size has a lot to do with it so maybe that is what bites Reidsville's proverbial backhind.

It's a couple of things but it has a lot to do with size. Reidsville has good ball players but most are smaller than what FBS schools want. It takes more than making 300 tackles in your career or rushing for over 2000 yards in a season to get a FBS scholarship. Playing in 2a along with a weak schedule don't help either. Reidsville High had nothing to due with Kenzel Doe getting his scholarship. He went to a prep school and his coach had alot of connection on the FBS level. Plus he had connections with John Settle. As far a rankin goes he's only 5'11 205. It's rare to find a LB at that size come in on a full ride on the FBS level. With a 3.4 gpa and a 810 s.a.t he qualified for any FBS that wanted to offer him. So grades isn't the issue with rankin. Its an issue with schools like FCS private schools like Richmond Furman and Elon who S.a.t requirements are alot higher than FBS or FCS state schools.

Every body can't play D1 football. That's not the only level out there. Reidsvill has several kids playing on the D2 and d3 level. You still getting a good education. How many kids come through reidsville that are 6'2 220, or 6'3 280 that are athletic ? That's the type of size you see on the 3A and 4A level. Those kids pass the eye test by college coaches.

On the team next year Cook has good size, I'm curious to see if anyone will look at him, also number 73 has good size and I think Welch is getting looks. Rankin was one of the best players I've seen come out of Reidsville.

MC next year O-Line, (Returning)QB James Smith threw for over 3000 yds and rushed for over 1000. RB Chauncery Bowman over 1500yds rushing.

T- 6'6" 285LB
G-6'4" 305LB
C-6'2" 295LB
G-6'6" 285LB
T- 6'5" 285LB

7 starters returning on the State Championship Defense. Reidsville would not make it past the 50yd line. Nobody playing both ways.

MC is having a very difficult time scheduling, but it's not that bad.

Nobodies going to argue with that statement, about reidsville not making it past the 50 yrd line. Reidsville has too many player playing both ways plus the team as a whole are not buying into the weightroom like they should.

Props to Reidsville... LOL @ some of the other teams around who wouldn't dare pick up the phone, but claim to be THE program.

Dillon SC(2A)...had Mallard Creek beat in the 2013 opener ...but ran out of gas(depth) and lost 27--21
..that being said that was a 2A team like no other...they would have beat every team in NC that year and on a good night even MC

Nepsy did you read someone say otherwise?

No sir. I did not. Great fan of Reidsville .

If you play Mallard Creek, you will get destroyed. You have a great program, but you will quickly realize you are in serious trouble.

The games not happening. Reidsville is playing Northwest Guilford, Northern Guilford and High Point Andrews, along with the county teams, I'm pretty sure that's what I heard. I don't think the Mallard Creek game was ever anything but just a talk. Reidsville doesn't have the type of team to compete with Mallard Creek, maybe from 02-09 we did, but not anything close from 2010 and on. Like Nepsy said I doubt we'd make it across midfield.

Long History and great program (Reidsville) Lot of respect for what they have accomplished throughout the years.

Now there is a guy who has been hijacking the 4A board, telling everyone that Shelby is the greatest program in the State.

He disappears when Teams like MC have opening. So i took it upon myself to have our AD reach out to Shelby.

HE did! Shelby the allegedly #1 program in the State will not call us back. May be the Hijacker ( '9...ampion)[/URL]can get them to call us back.?

My e-mail is nepsy7@yahoo.com......Leave us a number that works.

Would not have happened. Too easy to make a prediction like that without teams playing each other.

I saw MC play a couple games early in 2013 and their last two. Totally different animal at the end of the season. Butler improved considerably from the first meeting to the semi final, their HC agreed, and MC rolled them after having a close first game.

I hate to say it but Reidsville stock is falling. The beat lesser teams but lose to good ones. They have had some good teams in the past, but they are not a good program. TRUTH is they don't put kids in schools period. I'm amazed the parents keep going for it. Too much talent is at the McDonald's. It seems to me it's all about the gate, which ironically is run by the Lions Club. Whos tracking the money....lol. All I know is if you want your kids to have great stats and call it a career after high school keep sending them over there. Teague isn't a great coach. In his heyday he had a great staff. One in particular the OC. I 5hink if you look at their schedule, they put wins over the kids. But I guess no one cares as long as the go deep in the playoffs and the kids go to the nearest fast food joint to work after they put down the ball. SOME of those guys need a wake up call!!!!

Dudley1987, it is pretty obvious you are a bitter old idiot that is clueless to anything about Reidsville Football.

Your grammar is terrible, as well.

Reidsville High School runs the "gate".

Lions Club runs the concessions and gives all of the proceeds to Reidsville High School.

Lions Club members volunteer their time and efforts. To imply they are not properly looking after their proceeds is insulting to a lot of fine men and women.

What a jerk.

Dillon ...could have beat all teams in NC in 2013(lets put it that way) depth killed them against MC and that was a great MC team...that Dillon squad had athletes all over the place

actually Mule....The Lions club splits the NET profits with the school after the expenses...it is a big fund raiser for both and relieves the school of having to worry about looking after the concession stand...also the Lions Club initially donated TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS toward the original construction of the stadium...that was in 1984...stadium opened in the fall of 1985............The Lions Club has absolutely nothing to do with THE GATE....Admission tickets are run by the school athletic dept...and prices are set by the Conference and in playoffs by NCHSAA....Amazing how some people post stuff they know nothing about...and I will not even get into the post about the Reidsville program and the coaching staff....Makes me want to hurl...............

Well let's see what they do this year....lol. Some folk can't see the forest for the trees, but what do you expect from Rockingham County. Wise up parents get out.....lol. Quick qurstion, how many of the kids are going to college?

You are obviously a bitter parent that has moved his child(ren) around too numerous schools over their high school careers, an attempt to get them "better exposure". Three to four different high schools on a transcript can't look that promising.

And to answer you uneducated, misinformed "qurstion".....

2 have signed letters of intent, 2 more are expected to have an announcement soon, and about 12 more I know for certain are headed to a campus this fall.

And that does not include the rising juniors and seniors for next season.

Dillion SC might be classified 2A in SC, but they are not like any 2A team in NC.
