Reidsville - Andrews updates

I know the 2010 wasn't bad, but when a couple players got kicked off the team it went down hill quick. The 2010 team could have competed for a championship if it stayed whole, 2aa was pretty weak that year too.

I keep hearing about being young. This team isn't young lots 11/12 graders playing. Inexperienced yea, young on the line but overall no

They are very young. 2 sophomores on ol. 2 juniors and freshman at times. Juniors on corners, sophomore at safety, 41 is a, sophomore, 18 a junior. Noel Cook, Goins, Jackson along with a couple of lineman are Sr rest are under classmen

Very surprised at some of the post calling 13-18 year olds names smh thought this was for good smart football talk!!!! But I see some of y'all are just band wagon idiots saying the should where skirts!!!! That's foolish talk!!!! Remember they do read this!!!! You talk about them for fighting what kind of example or fan are you!!!!and do the record I was at the game and saw how the fight started.... Was not us starting the fight and mos of the players where trying to break it up and the comment about the QB told y'all I'm not a big fan of transfers and switching them in and out but some of y'all said he was a D1 prospect haven't seen that yet .....18 took most of the snaps 0 points..... Not all his falt but he missed some receivers that where wide open and looked very uncomfortable...check the record be careful what you ask for......I'm just saying!!!!!!!

They are young 8 seniors and not many juniors that have experience on the varsity level but don't count them out 3/1 not bad I've seen 0/3 and we where in the state championship game!!!!! STAY ON THE WAGON!!!!!!

So like I said playing around 5 sophomores and rest being upperclassmen juniors and seniors is not young

Man....all kinds of action in this thread. Rams eating their own, talks of one of the worst defeats at Community Stadium (ahem now don't forget about 2013), talk of no talent, falling apart....and where is the football capital...supposedly?

Our qb had 15 passes tonight. 11 were completions. 6 of the 11 completions were for touchdowns, to the tune of 351 yards. He didn't play the entire second half. Loaded talent in Shelby. And word on the street is one of the best middle school teams ever. Ruh roh....#15 in '15.

And rambbq, I wouldn't say 30 years or 3 decades is "few and far between." You can't exclude the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Sorry.

Andrews is a Sr team, has 27 Sr, like in 2013 we had 28 Sr. last year we had only 8 Sr
So look for us to go deep in play-off. Hope they put us in the East like in 2013

Alot of junk talk was talked about rock vs reidsville game. Say what youll want Rock looked like they learned alot from there past two games Reidsville got the crap beat out of them. Im talking Rock was losing by two touchdowns going into 4th quarter and pulled off another miraculous victory. They got big things in their future and if the rams dont get it together they will just be watching the highlights

Also rock has never had a team that could over come adcersity and play in the fourth quarter this year the got heart it looks like to me!

Rock does have heart and I see them getting in the playoffs this year. However I still don't see them beating reidsville in the future, I would have thought this would have been the year.

Yea ok! Its not about beating Reidsville anyways but if you think reidsvilles staying on top without class or any kind of discipline you are very wrong. Mark my words! Someone said that the fight wasnt started by reidsville. What happened? They reacted. Thats the difference in Rock and reidsville. Yes it takes class and displine to walk away. Im just saying dont shoot the messenger. Many Rock teams have been good enough to beat the Rams and your right we didnt but this coach is bringing in a new concept that should have been brought in 8 years ago.

Man I seen a coach tonight that stayed calm when they was losing by 13 and played it like it was zero to zero. Almost looked like some of the old reidsville teams I use to see! They got some work to do on the outside on d fence but when the coach makes the adjustment they are going to be dangerous.

I believe the lost of mike golden has hurt this team more mentality than physically. He was the mental firecracker on this team. I saw the flatness and soulessness of the team at kickoff. Remember these are kids not adults at this age they always look for that leader weather he's vocal or quiet and when that leader is gone so is the mental energy of the team. That's what's happening now along with other injuries. The toughest part of our schedule is coming up. We can't afford anymore injuries. Northern will be northern and nw will be very physical and deep as always. I don't believe we are a championship team but still could have a good season in the end. If anybody in the conference beat us it could be Bartlett Yancey. If they're not careful

I've been keeping up with B-Y They dropped 40 point on East Chapel Hill (unusual for a B-Y team). If we keep going the route we're going it could happen. People said no way in hell we lose to Andrews even with our injuries.

Just reviewing youlls post where youll say the our grandparents just watch the band and go home. What was the final score of andrews and reidsville in community stadium. Bahaha.... What a bunch of jokes. I watch this thread when youll lose to teach my kids what not to do when they get older which is Get on a message board and make excuses for why a team sucks after a terrible loss. Key word there which I know alot of youll went to reidsville so ill spell it out for ya. E..X..C..U..S..E..S.. For you reidsville fans that did not even go to reidsville or your kids that didnt go to reidsville its ok it aint to late to go somewhere with some class and dignity.

Still a big fan of Ram football...........just because some critique certain aspects of the game or season shouldn't be taken as not caring about the team..but facts are facts....we've been spoiled from success.....But success doesn't come without work and sweat........Can't erase the fact that this game was the FOURTH worst loss in Reidsville football history (which is over 100 years)..........

I have faith in coach Teague but man does he have a lot of work starting today. It was nice to see Headram 69 still praising his boy 15 and taking shots at 18. We can always count on that no matter what. It's time to hand the keys to the offense to 18. He's a big strong armed difference maker as long as the wrs don't let the balls continue to hit them in the face mask. Maybe the splitting of reps between qbs has held the receivers back in learning to catch the high velocity throws. Practice can fix that. I haven't seen the spead formation quick throws that I believe needs to be the plan going forward. Luckily last night only counted as one loss because it felt much worse. Back to work boys. Today is a new day. Reidsville is still Reidsville.

again a bunch of clowns that do nothing but critic ....and tear down the kids...funny none of the clowns have said nothing about the play calling especially going for it on 4th and goal from the 9 in the 1st quarter....

Nobody on here is tearing down kids. Just giving our thoughts about what we see on the field. We have all these kids backs. These kids are 14-18 more than old enough to read and understand what's going on a football blog And not let it affect them if anything it should motivate them to prove people wrong. Need to stop babying kids.

The play calling/decision making was bad. It was an entire team circus on that field last night no way around that. Can't put blame on any one facet of game. Lots of changes need to be made by Friday.

Also I haven't seen a practice but if what a few are saying that they rarely simulate game action during practice then it's gonna be another year of going 0 for the real teams we face. Play how you practice

O.K. Rambbq, here is some free advice, courtesy of Will Rogers:

Never argue with children and fools. One is too young to understand, and the other never will.

And I might add, if both young and foolish, no hope.

On a more serious note, losing Pops, Earl Bates, and Doug Robertson off the Rams coaching staff has taken a huge toll on the coaching staff. None of them has been adequately replaced and the results are showing up on the football field.

This Rams team will get better but it will be more difficult than in previous years because of the lack of leadership evidenced last night both from the players and coaches.

I would not be surprised to see a much better effort Thursday night against Northern Guilford. Otherwise, it could be another Top Five loss in school history.

Thanks for the updates guys! I couldn't listen to the stream because I was putting out fires all night for my team. I'm happy with the win obviously and a little surprised by how one sided it was. Andrews is a body punching team...they just keep punching you in the stomach and methodically beat you down, but I honestly thought Reidsville would counter and keep it close. I think maybe we all undervalued the Red Raiders a little because of the well documented concerns about this staff's ways. Andrews always has enough talent to be competitive with almost any school in the state, regardless of classification. The question is how will that talent be used and managed. That is what is most frustrating. Losing to SW Guilford but dominating Reidsville. I remain cautiously optimistic....

Toot, the Red Raiders that showed up last night would have beat Southwest by 50. That loss is mind boggling after what we've seen the last few weeks....

I'm also cautiously optimistic moving forward with concerns remaining around consistency and discipline.

I agree with the mule I think the rams will play better vs northern but if they don't it could get ugly in a hurry. I'd like to see #14 start either at wr or maybe at safety.

Reidsville of Friday night was a team trying to adjust to the unexpected loss of six starters (3 two-way players) against what looked like a very good Andrews team. Not converting on the first-and-goal with a chance to regain the lead in the first quarter was demoralizing for a team with a fragile psyche. The snowball effect then set in.

The Rams are 3-1 (not too shabby) and still the favorite to win the Mid-State 2-A Conference. Give them a break fans! ... this was a bad loss but not the end of the season. They will learn from this experience and only get better against a tough non-conference schedule.

It will interesting to see how good Andrews is as the schedule plays out.

To ramqb13 not praising any just get tired of you so called long time ram fans jumping on these transfers if they're so good why are they changing schools looking for the right situations instead of making it work where they are at and as far as taking shots someone said we would have subpar wins as long as he's on the bench and said al he does is hand off I was just making a point seems like someone getting offended when they see the truth

I was at the game, and i was proud of how Reidsville handled all the injuries. That pride left when I saw us shake hands. I dont know what you saw, but we clearly lost control during the hand shake. The entire team was spilling onto andrews side of the field. I saw it first hand from the top of the stands at the 50. I hope someone got the film so we can hold whomever accountable.

It was an ugly loss for sure, but these things happen like another said when you have multiple injuries to 2way starters. Have some pride, and use all that energy during the game instead of after the refs leave the field.

Hats off to the raiders, hoping we get some of these injuries and bad attitudes under control.
