Rams pretty dominant in a rather ho-hum affair...Red Raiders played hard but they seemed a little clueless at times...but that happens when your coach quits 2 weeks before the season starts....way too many penalties tonite ( more than a few questionable) but that's expected...high school officiating is uneven at best in high school, most of the time.............Reidsville now has won 23 straight and their consecutive scoring streak now stands at 283 games (tops in the state)...last time a Reidsville team did not score was a first round 14-0 playoff loss to West Brunswick in 1997.............

Here's the scoring parade:

Andrews 0 6 14 0 — 20
Reidsville 17 22 21 0 — 60

R - Trell Rankin 12 run (Willie Blackstock run)
R - Safety, ball centered out of end zone
R - Blackstock 2 run (Zach Baber kick)
R - Rankin 2 run (Baber kick)
R - Brandon Lipscomb 5 pass from Titus Jones (Jiheem Hooper pass from Jones)
A - Isiah Davis 33 interception return (pass failed)
R - Rankin 36 run (Baber kick)
R - Lipscomb 24 pass from Jones (Baber kick)
A - Davis 20 pass from Jenoah McKiver (Jameel Zimmerman pass from McKiver)
R - Dajour Tatum 38 pass from Jones (Baber kick)
R - Jones 10 run (Cole Bennett kick)
A - Davis 55 pass from McKiver (run failed)

I think the team lost some focus. 6 pts came off pick 6, 6 came when the ref called TD even though kid fumbled on 1. Photo by Doug Anderson left no doubt and 6 off second string DB after to really dumb penalties. I'll have to look back to how many points the first team D has given up.

Reidsville first-team defense gave up its second TD of the year on a drive that featured 45 yards in penalties against Rams. Other two Andrews TDs were on pick-6 interception and pass against reserve defense. Rams got a little sloppy after getting the big lead - I guess it's tough to totally focus coming off the big win against 4-A Northwest.

Isiah Davis had a really nice game for Andrews - 3 receptions for 80 yards and the pick-6.

Reidsville had 392 total yards, Andrews 62. Bunch of negative yards in both team totals.

Conference play begins for Rams next week with Carrboro visiting Reidsville.

Here are some more stats ...
Ram QB Titus Jones 10-of-13 with 1 interception for 185 yardsand 3 TDs. Again a wide variety of receivers - 7 different players caught balls out of the 10 completions. Brandon Lipscomb had two for 29 yards, both for TDs. Trell Rankin led the rushing with 59 yards on just 7 attempts.

The dreaded penalty column - Andrews 8 for 69, Reidsville 11 for 105. Those zebras had good eyes.

For the first time in 3928494 years, the opposing team had more penalties than Andrews....lol

You guys will be fine in the penalty department. Some questionable, others just typical of a game that wasn't close.

The TD after penalties was with a lot of 2nd team guys in
That TD was the first of the two offensive scores by Andrews. On third and 4 from their own 35, Andrews threw incomplete pass but roughing the passer and unsportsmanlike on same play marched ball to the Reidsville 35. Next play, another 15-yarder for pass interference. Then on 4th and 10 at RHS 20, Andrews scores on the 20-yard pass. I think most of Ram first team was still in there, although it's hard to tell at times because Reidsville subs a lot throughout the game.

Yeah...I figured that had to be some kind of record.....not the kind you like to remember...lol...In 1923 Reidsville lost to Greensboro 64-0....at the other end of the spectrum, 2 years ago Reidsville beat Graham 75-0 for the most points scored.....What's the most HPA has ever scored?? (Andrews has only been around since the fall of 1968....Reidsville and HPA played that year and Reidsville won the game, 2-0 (that's gotta be one of the oddest scores either school has been involved with)................
