We play teams with a pulse down here. Impressive win tonight, though, even though EG was blown out by a 1-3 and very down Page team last week.
Didnt say they wouldnt win. Just simple fact that rams will get no credit. Idc who they schedule. But shelby get blown out and it will be spinned to say how tough opponent was or something. A highly ranked, undefeated King Mountain who will likely see Charlotte Catholic in the Western Finals. You’re talking as if they are some scrubs, and a non Shelby poster started that “unbeatable thread”. It’s all good, though. We will see y’all in November.

Many years ago, Reidsville was up on Eastern 49-0 at half time. A friend asked, “what do you tell your team when you are down 49-0 at halftime?”
I responded, “gentlemen, reidsville has lost two games this year. In both of those games, they did not score in the second half. We got ‘em right where we want ‘em.”
I was at the game... on the sidelines with no rooting interest. Reidsville offense was clicking. I’ll just say unstoppable last night. Passing/rushing... didn’t matter. They have a lot of speed & multiple weapons. Good QB. Good RB. 3 good WRs (maybe more but just off top of my head). People can say what they want but that is a pretty young but very athletic Eastern Guilford team that Reidsville beat handily. Eastern Guilford will win a lot of games from here on out.
I’d love to see the penalty stats for the game. Reidsville played cleaner in terms of penalties. Eastern Guilford had a ton & seemed to self destruct down in the red zone (penalties & 2 of 3 turnovers were red zone). How many procedure penalties?
Reidsville defense is good but they can be moved on. EG proved that. I give Reidsville credit for tightening up down in red zone. Newby for EG actually missed the last 3 quarters. His injury occurred with 20-30 seconds left in Q1 at the 9 yard line. It was right in front of me. I’m hearing it may just be an ankle sprain. It looked worse when his cleat stuck in the turf & he bent back. I thought it might have been ankle and knee.
In 2A, it will take a special team to stand up to Reidsville this year.

Reidsville has 3 special receivers, but has 3 or 4 more that can really play also.
But, I agree Eastern Guildford should win some games, they will have a shot at winning their conference.
Tez Canada doesn't need to leave the field at all on offense. on a 3 wr set, I'd like to see pass, canada and edwards.
Also, its too early to rule out a shelby and Reidsville matchup
Penalties:
Eastern 12-97 - probably half of those illegal procedure
Reidsville 6-72 (was it one or two TDs called back?)
Remember that Jiheem Hooper made the spectacular TD catch of the year in playoffs last year and I don't think he played on offense last night; Colby Johnson is also a standout: his only two "catches" last night were on Eastern Guilford passes. Those two guys are needed more on defense.
Jaden Robinson also would be a WR starter on most teams. Rams are also blessed that Long and Davis are good hands receivers out of the backfield.
Eastern Guilford has a good offense. Newby and Kamell Smith are both next level players. They put up 21 points on my Whirlies, who have only given up 46, total, all year. A big power run team with talented and fast DBs combined with a strong pass rush could give Reidsville problems. But, I don't think that animal exists in 2A/2AA.
