Red Springs @ South Columbus Updates

Some terrible play calling so far tonight by the Stallions. Running #21 up the middle when he thrives outside. Not running #32 much at all. Red Springs has 10, sometimes 11 in the box and we refuse to even attempt a pass, despite having success throwing it the last couple of weeks. Just blows my mind.

Certainly do. Probably why the mystery coach wants to come a lead these boys.
I think next year we are going to really shock some people if the coaching rumors come true. I honestly think we will be one of the top teams in the East next year.
I find it hard to believe you guys are still talking about replacing your Head Coach. He should most likely be the coach of the year in the conference. I would think most of
South Columbus's fan base does not feel that way. I wonder how the players feel about their coach. Maybe it is time for the silent majority to speak up.
Mr. Dollar if you saw the 'coaching" in this game tonight you might have a difference of opinion. It was terrible. Red Springs had 10 in the box all night and sometimes 11 and we still refused to pass. We also neverran #32 up the middle after he killed RS doing just that last game. Finally on the last drive we threw a pass which resulted in a 30 yard gain which was the biggest play of the game. It's easy to say he's done a good job while looking from a distance. We lost horribly to every good team we played, then started having success against the bottom feeders of high school football.
As far as the silent majority supporting him, you couldn't be more wrong. Our kids support him because he is their coach and we have good kids here at South.
I'm sure you Whiteville fans are stirring up this crap because you want him to stay so we will remain mediocre. How many coaches have y'all ran out of town in the past 20 years? You never heard we Stallion fans say anything about that, because it's your business and we don't care what y'all do.
He's come a long way since ditching the read option no doubt .... But beating teams in this conference is bitter sweet because it's crappy football being played in the three rivers and that's just the cold hard truth .... We wanna be back being a contender for the state championship
I pretty much agree with everything that SCHS said so far in this post. Just being absolutely honest, he hit the nail on the head in every post he did tonight. Don't want to be negative because we have a great group of kids and they are playing their hearts out. Guess you just have to be at the games to see the obvious. Regardless, the Stallions get a big playoff win and Stallion Nation couldn't be happier. Go Stallions!!
Thanks dirty. I just call it like I see it. It's nothing personal with the guy, it's just that he is a bad coach. I mean honestly, the games we won were won by our talent. You could literally draw someones number out of the crowd like a 50/50 raffle and coach this team to wins over the teams in the three rivers conference, with the exception of Fairmont and Whiteville.
Two exciting win in a row and it gets no easier next week. Gonna have to make a lot of adjustments from the last time we played Fairmont, they can throw the ball and are full of good athletes. But I really believe South Columbus can win this game if the kids continue to play their hearts out and the coaches have a good game plan. A great week of practice is crucial, feels good to be in the 2nd round again but 3rd round if even better. Go Stallions!!

Not true. We knew our last two coaches were fantastic coaches when we had them. We know this one is not a good coach right now. We know the mystery coach that is supposed to be taking over next year is a fantastic coach as well. I can guarantee you there will be no looking back and wishing we hadn't replaced the current coach next year.
I have to agree with SCHS 96 100% but I'm not getting into details due to the team playing with their hearts right now and we need to stand behind them until the end. Right now they need to focus on winning against Fairmont and nothing else. A win is a win and we will take it. On to the next round. Go Stallion!!!
What happened when u guys played Fairmont
Did south just shut down or were they that good. SC needs to go in this game with eyes wide open and play football. U know they will throw the ball so get ready for good game.

We made some costly mistakes in the first quarter that really hurt us and Fairmont took "quick" advantage of them. 38-0 at end of first quarter. We out scored them 28-12 for the next 3 but just too deep of a hole to climb out of.
