Realignment- Proposal #2

Is this different from the draft 2 that was released a couple of months ago? Isn't the final version in May?

There are some differences down east I believe, the 2 conferences involving WS/FCS and Surry were contested, but they didn't change.

Next step, see statement from NCHSAA:

"Per this timeline, the next step in this process is the east and west meetings, which are scheduled in February. More details relative to these meetings will be forthcoming."

I have added realignment time frames:

Looks like Maiden, Bandys, and Newton-Conover get to remain with all the Lincoln County teams (added N. Lincoln). Keeps this conference very strong. Interesting mix of teams in the other conference locally. East Burke, Hibriten, West Iredell, Bunker Hill, Fred T Foard, Draughn, and Patton. Hibriten could dominate that conference four years.

Shelby and South Point in the same conference will be a battle for the conference title. Both will be 2A state contenders every year.

Clinton, Wallace-Rose Hill, and James Kenan should all contend for conference champs. 2A with many more members will be very difficult to win in 2017.

Not sure if it's the final version but it's definitely different than the one we saw a couple of months ago.....poor Spring Creek by the way (in football anyway)

So it's looking more and more like Reidsville is going to be stuck in that 4 game football conf. and that's only if Carrboro fields a team yearly. Location is our main issue no 2A schools around.

Reidsville needs to go ahead and try to schedule nonconference games with the schools in Guilford County that are in that 5 team 4A conference.

Very happy that the current SD7 is staying pretty much together. Would rather trade LN Charter for Bunker Hill back but can't win em all. W Caldwell went 3A I guess? Adding N. Lincoln was an excellent choice. All of these school are packed pretty tight together and happen to have some very strong football programs in the league. It's going to be a great four year run.

Conference M is going to be a great football conference. It might be harder to win the conference than the state.

I think some in the NCHSAA need a lesson on geography & economics for rural counties.

They need a lesson in more than that.

Put Carrboro in that conference with Webb and South Granville, as they are closer together. Give us Jordan Mathews and Eastern Randolph (dont give me that rivalry with PG and Wheatmore crap, they aint been around long enough).

And tell those School of the Arts and Science and Math to go play Cardinal Gibbons or someone.

Agree that the rivalry with Wheatmore may be "new" because they ain't been around that long but the PG thing goes well beyond age of school. The athletes at both schools grow up playing against each other from in the case of some age 5. Also conference they are slated to be in is just an expansion of PAC6 which includes 5 high schools from Randolph county. Oh and don't underestimate the excitement of ER/Randleman games in all sports.

Good to feel wanted but way back when I used to take that bus ride to BY in the old Mid-State 3A. It ain't that close.

How bout the new look of the proposed Rocky River 2A Conference, Anson County, Forest Hills, West Stanly, Mt Pleasant, East Montgomery, Central Academy. Anson coming from 3A an East Montgomery moving out of long time home The Yadkin Valley 1A this might be pretty evenly matched a cross the board more so than its been in a long while let's hope this is the conference proposal that they go for
