East Rutherford at Reidsville - Round 2

Reidsville lost this game the Morehead game when Cobb got hurt. Cobb would have punched the first 2 scores in when we didn't score twice inside the 10 in the first half.
From watching that video. It appears to some of us that Reidsville's run defense was putrid. ER ran through it like runny dung through a depends.

In fact ER almost gave the game away after totally dominating Reidsville.

I was told there was a lineman on the goal line as the ball was thrown, which is within the cushion and legal. When the ball was caught, lineman was deeper in endzone and that is what the official saw and flagged.
The rule: "By rule, ineligible Team A players may not advance beyond the expanded neutral zone on a legal forward pass play before a legal forward pass that crosses the neutral zone is in flight. The neutral zone expands 2 yards behind the defensive line of scrimmage following the snap. The position of the ineligible Team A player at the moment of the legal pass is the primary factor in determining if the player is illegally downfield. When identifying Team A players who are illegally downfield, it is important to make sure that the Team A player is clearly beyond the expanded neutral zone (2 yards) at the moment that the pass is in flight."

Ball is at the 3 yard line. Expanded neutral zone stops 2 yards beyond the line of scrimmage. When the ball is released, he is at the goal line which is 3 yards beyond the line of scrimmage. It was the correct call.

You all keep mentioning Cobb, you had Cobb in the West Stokes and Walktertown games and you did not runaway with a W, you had to fight for it. Walkertown is no longer in the playoffs, the way I see it anybody from Union, Cleveland, Rutherford, and Rowan county would have sent you home this season.

In the end we just got flat out beat, maybe it would've been different with Cobb or if certain penalties didn't occur but we were lucky to even be in the game considering the fluke plays that had to happen to put us back in it. East Rutherford had the perfect game plan to shut us down, even if we would've snuck past them I doubt we would've made it much further, definitely wouldn't have won the championship.

I agree with Rockingham R. I posted before the season even began how badly the Rams would miss the two MLB.'s...Mansfield and Widerman....they were studs and solidified the middle the two seasons before...............hopefully Reidsville coaches can develop someone to fill that void for next year....someone earlier posted about hitting the weight room....there's a start for the underclassmen............................
