Still surprises and confuses me why Providence Grove and Eastern Randolph are NOT in the same conference for 2025. Maybe some Randolph County folks can educate and enlighten me about what the heck is happening up that way ...

Just a stab in the dark, but with the teams in Eastern Randolph's conference which include North Moore, Northwood, Carrboro, Jordan Matthews, Southwestern Randolph, and a non football playing school, Uwharrie Charter, Eastern Randolph shouldn't lose a conference football game the next four years, with only Northwood an outside chance for an upset.
P.S. Providence Grove will be 3-A, the same as Eastern Randolph, so your inquiry is indeed a strain upon the cranium why they're not in the same conference.. Providence Grove's conference, more than likely not to be a powerhouse in football , will include East Davidson, Thomasville, West Davidson, Wheatmore, and Trinity. An average Thomasville squad, although experiencing some issues recently , could walk through this conference with the ease of depositing a dime in the local juke joint juke box.

However, Eastern Randolph and Providence Grove are practically next door neighbors, and, PG has to cross the other side of I-73 to visit conference opponents (Trinity, Wheatmore, and those Davidson County 3A teams) ... Part of PG came from parts of ER and Randleman if I recall ...

pG should probably just drive the extra distant and at least have a chance at some wins lol that school is in shambles from what I hear

A fish rots from the head down. But it's been trending down since the old baseball coach retired, the only one in that conference that used to beat up them Tigers over in the roundabouts.

Now hold on a sec…
When baby boy was a junior ER was victorious at the roundabouts…
The banner is hanging in the gym (ok it’s on the wall)…
Seems like that same team did alright against PG’s squad as well…
Yeah that was 2017 too 😂😂😂

Think, and I have no inside info at all, that the powers that be are intent on sending Eastern Randolph east for any playoffs they are lucky enough to qualify for. Providence Grove appears to be destined to head west. From the outside looking in, this doesn’t make sense unless you look at it geographically. ER is 8 miles from the Chatham County line, which is in the current alignment, the dividing line. PG is between 15-20 miles. Could they have sent PG east? Yes sir I think so myself, especially when both Southwestern Randolph and the Asheboro charter appear to be going that way.
It’s a mystery inside an enigma 🤷‍♂️

Whats to explain, you thick in the skull??
Well you mentioned how the "old" baseball coach used to beat up on the Roundabouts tigers but I have been following high school baseball pretty closely for the last 15 years at least and don't recall seeing any deep runs in the baseball playoffs by Providence grove at all. I consistently see Randleman making deep runs in the playoffs....Please correct me if I am wrong.

Also who is the coach you are referring to?

His last name was Kidd (some relation but would take awhile to explain)…
He was a senior at ER in 1980 and played second base.
And PG did have some success against Roundabout High then. Didn’t translate to playoff wins because their home games aren’t played in a cracker box 😂🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I didn't say anything about deep runs in playoffs, but I believe in 2018 they beat the tigers twice and made it 3 rounds deep. Split with the tigers the next year, so id say he had a some success against the Randleman All stars relative to the rest of the conference.

Yeah seems like you are gauging your success off of Randleman….lil obsession

Me obsessed?
That’s a new one…
Obsessed is probably the wrong word but it seems (especially baseball) everyone is always comparing themselves to Randleman. I guess it kinda makes sense because they have been the golden standard for 2a the last 10-15 years but it almost seems like they are in everyone’s “head” I just don’t get it

The baseball coach at Randleman, Jake Smith, is a Southern Guilford and East Carolina graduate. Mister Smith was the 2006 winner of the Johnny Bench Award while playing for East Carolina , given annually to the nation's top collegiate catcher. He played briefly in the Oakland A's organization before an injury ended his career. He's a big part of the success at Randleman.
P.S. Randleman has never had a losing season in baseball.

You are most definitely thick in the skull and we are straying off the original subject of you wanting your to bash PG. Of course everyone around here compares themselves to randleman, they have been at the top of the conference for quite awhile. I've followed baseball and many other sports round here for awhile to. Like already mentioned, smith does a great job of building on a foundation started a long time ago by hurley winning states 15 or so years ago. Smith also has two great assistants in davis and white.

Smith has done an excellent job and is well thought of as a coach…
Putting him in that other HC category is…uh…interesting considering the alleged happenings…

Since 2013-14 season, the beginning of PAC6 later becoming PAC7, Roundabout High has finished first in the conference every year except for 16-17 when they tied with ER and 18-19 when they finished second to PG. Much like Eastern Randolph in football, they are the team to beat in conference when it comes to baseball. PG has beaten them some, ER occasionally and I think Trinity once. That’s not exactly fifteen years but it is ten. It’s almost exactly like ER in football in the PAC7.
Does that help with you “getting it”?

Yes a lil…..out of that same time span what is the football breakdown of that conference?
