Opportunities are worthless when no one will return the ADs phone calls. Of course, this draft is so bad
my thought was left off previously. This draft is so bad, perhaps more people will consider playing reidsville.

I was hoping the East Gaston and Huss would go in conference with Lincoln County Schools, but that didn't happen. NCHSAA has created on of the most lopsided football conferences in in the state. I don't get why they did the split conference thing. This is horrible from a football standpoint for Burns, Shelby and Huss.
But yet, 1A schools seem to return your AD’s calls.🙄 Your gate alone would attract quality opponents. Annoys the heck out of me whenever someone says. “Nobody will play us”, even Shelby fans.my thought was left off previously. Or beat all to pieces....I would prefer to see SWO in a conference with WRH, JK, Clinton and East Duplin. Come playoff time, if you make the playoffs, you will be battle tested.
Still could happen, it’s just a first draft. I would love to see Burns, Shelby, East Gaston, Huss, Lincolnton, and West Lincoln and maybe Lincoln Charter. My take on some of these eastern conferences only from a football perspective.
Conference 16 is similar to the 2a/1a split league SWO just came out of. Weak as can be football wise.
Conference 3 is almost as bad. If I am West Craven, I am loving only having Kinston as any real challenge. Bigger question might be whether Jones and Lejeune even field a team. I could even see South Lenoir having a .500 season
Conference 5 is South Columbus and Whiteville....thats it
Conference 8 isnt very good either. I am guessing Spring Creek will decide to play football in this one.
Conference 7 is without a doubt the toughest with the same culprits, WRH, ED, JK, Clinton and improving Midway. Biggest question here is North Duplin and Hobbton. I can see both being competitive with Midway but no way they will be able to compete with the others. As I said in earlier post, both are probably going to appeal.
I am interested to see what the association does in regards to playoffs. I see pre-determined brackets coming back as another way to cut down on travel in the early rounds. If that happens, some of these conference champs from these weak or two team split leagues are going to be matched up with a 2nd or 3rd place finisher from another league and be considered the underdog.
Notice in my post above I stated that my comments were based on football perspective. This is a football board so majority of postings are probably football slantedWhether or not a school fields a JV team or even a varsity team has little to do with overall realignment. We are quick to forget.....its an overall athletic realignment for all sports.
I would add that I am not against one alignment for football, and another for other sports.......
Hobbton and North duplin will almost certainly go independent if they are forced into that league. My guess is we will see some changes.
I would say that this next draft is where you are most likely to see changes, tho. After that will be far less of a chance.
If you move one or 2 schools, it can completely change the entire east.
Im pretty sure Wallace, ED, etc are not thirllled about getting hobbton and ND either.
January 8.What is the deadline for schools to submit complaints or recommended changes (however you want to word it)?
I dont know the exacted day but next Realignment is Jan 14th n Feb 4thWhat is the deadline for schools to submit complaints or recommended changes (however you want to word it)?

Hobbton is not as vehement as North Duplin, and as I said, what their counties allow them to do may affect them going independent in football, but those 2 are most definitely very very very against this draft. North Duplin will fight tooth and nail.
Yes, I think the conference it is makes the difference. Both im sure would rather be in an all 1A league, and there are quite a few proposals being made to that effect, but the league with Spring Creek, North johnston, Goldsboro, princeton, Eastern Wayne, Rosewood and Neuse Charter (No FB) is not CLOSE to as powerful in football as the Wallace/JK league. They would protest that too, but why would any 1A school who is small WANT to be in a split league? Travl is not an issue for them as there are a bunch of schools from each class in the area. Really no need for a split here, which is why I think ultimately they will get a 1A only league back.
Plus, Wallace and them have already dealt with the independent thing the past four years and want no part of it, which is another reason i think this one won't stand.
The problem is, if you move one or two schools, it could reconfigure the entire east,
Gonna be interesting. but while what i think is correct for all is one thing, individual schools have to look after themselves. You have to work with people, yes, but in a situation like this, these schools believe they are fighting for the life of their programs.
How does the whole “independent“ thing work?I think Spring Creek might argue with you as far as playing bigger, better teams.
Saw in local paper this week that as expected ND says they will appeal. I have also seen posts on Twitter that some small schools might even break away from the NCHSAA and go independent route if their appeals are denied.
Maybe the county should follow the lead of other counties in the area and possibly redistrict? ED has over 900 students and ND 300 ? Maybe only 2 or 3 high schools might be better and even everything out?
Well Lion, it may be annoying, but it true. One of the main reasons is schools in nearby counties (Alamance, Guilford) are required to play other schools in their own county and don't have openings to play teams like Reidsville. And, of course, there is only one team in Caswell County, BY.But yet, 1A schools seem to return your AD’s calls.🙄 Your gate alone would attract quality opponents. Reidsville is appealing the latest conference proposal as it would require Reidsville to find 6 or 7 out of conference games, which will be almost impossible, particularly considering concerns other have noted on this thread.
Best outcome for Reidsville would be a split 2A/3A conference with Rockingham and Forsyth schools but whether that is even remotely possible remains to be seen.
