Playoff projections

Not quite, Junior.

I'm sorry that I'm not impressed by your yearly domination of Pasquotank and First Flight. Judging you by your playoff track record... my skepticism is probably warranted.

Beat someone when it matters, Junior, then beat your chest.

How do u figure that a 9-2 team should be the number 1 seed when there is an 11-0 team sitting out there? I'm sorry.....9-1 for playoff purposes....but still, come on. Granted, y'all stomped us last year, but we own Northeastern overall. I think Kinston will be ok.......and then we will stomp on Kinston. Lol

Our the teams that beat us would beat Kinston by 2 or more touchdowns hell plymouth would have gave them a game maybe even won so our schedule was no cakewalk

Northeastern. Beat up on the same tomato cans every year, and every year get your ass handed to you in the playoffs.
Hey Jamesdavis06 dont you love the disrespect with no facts to back it up? Just the same old tired narrative. Since 2011 East Duplin has appeared in 3 total rounds of the playoffs including a complete no show last year meanwhile during the same time period Northeastern appeared in 13 total rounds of the playoffs.

No matter who the teams were, a loss is a loss, and a 0 is a 0, and that's what they are gonna go by every time.
Shoot, y'all better be worried about a second round matchup with Hertford County! A 3 point home victory two weeks ago? Dude, Kinston shouldn't even be on Northeastern's radar right now.

We turnovers that game that made it a good and some bad calls but you going to have some bad calls in every game not for that we win 3 or 4 touchdowns

Cause Aces...and I like you, by the way....but when you get a top 3 seed year in and year out because of squeaky clean schedules, your first couple of playoff opponents low tier teams. Make no mistake about it....NE schedule this year and last year was nice. But in recent years, it hasn't been.

Turnovers are mainly because of the opponent, so u gotta give HC credit for that. Teams don't turn the ball over on purpose. That was all HC. And I can't think of a team that hasn't said that bad calls cost them. HC will say that they would have won had it not been for bad calls against them. I hope your boys aren't looking past them.

We look past no one. One game at a time but at the same time we welcome anyone since we don't get no respect no one on this side of the east get it so we play for everyone on this side

A-G is gonna give Edenton a game. I'm giving Edenton the edge because they are at home, but historically, AG has been a pretty good team. I know Holmes has as well. No idea who would win on a neutral field.

What does East Duplin have to do with this? I haven't seen any of our fans calling out the number one seed (or anyone else for that matter) in our bracket. When you beat up on tomato cans year after year and crap out every time you step between the lines against real competition, you deserve criticism. You deserve to be flat ridiculed when you call out the number one team in the east with your, ahem, less than impressive track record.

To suggest a team like Plymouth would beat Kinston by two touchdowns in flat out asinine.

I never said that plymouth would have won by 2 touchdowns I said that they would have gave them a game or even maybe got a win don't sleep on them

Who have yall beat or even played this year that was ranked in the top 50 in the nation we did and almost and should have won

This is comical now. Stop trying to make this about East Duplin. We routinely play some of the best teams in the state (Clinton, Wallace, Southwest Onslow, and James Kenan) Northeastern scheduled us. Northeastern took two L's. (And remember, you brought that up, not I) We're talking about Northeastern.

You said outside of Shelby and Reidsville everyone in the bracket is pathetic. All I'm saying is Lincolnton deserves a little more credit than that kind of disrespect. Not saying we'll beat Shelby, or that we'll even get that far. But I do think we can. But pathetic? Come on, man.
if you are looking for reassurance about your team, the worst place you can go to is the internet...

The words "pathetic" and "Lincolnton" never belong in the same sentence.

Admittedly, I overlooked Lincolnton in the bracket. I think they are just as good as anybody minus Shelby.

Lincolnton vs Shelby in the little 2A western finals will be two physical defensive teams.

Why are the teams in the Northeastern Coastal Conference all playing each other the 1st 2nd 3rd round if they win. Seems as if some of those teams should have been moved to the bottom of the bracket to make it more competitive. Anybody else notice this?

Sure did. But I decided not to say anything because I have a hard time respecting the conference's torchbearer right now. Hertford, Bertie, and Holmes I respect. But that other team.....blah.

We better. This is the best opportunity we have had in our school's history, which includes two undefeated regular seasons in 06 and 09. In 06, we were just two or so years into winning consistantly, and wejust weren't ready to handle being one of the big boys. A blocked xp in overtime ended that perfect season in the third rd of the playoffs. And in 09, in 2A, we had a little problem called Reidsville, but then again, they were eveybody's problem. But now, even with a loss, things are set up well for us. For the first time ever, we have a passing attack to go with our running game. And I'm not being funny. We have never had over 500 yards passing until this season. And something else we have that has only been used maybe two or three seasons is a kicking game. Inexperience kicking cost us that game vs Reidsville (lost by 2 on a botched fg attempt as time expired), but now points are almost a lock near the redzone. And our defense is hard to score on. We have a complete team and the bracket sets up really nice for us. An eastern finals appearance is in our grasp. With that being said, we better make sure we get past round one first. Farmville Central had that game against us a few weeks ago, so we aren't looking at how far we can go. We have a tough tasks right out of the gate.

By your name, I'm guessing you rep Bertie?

Yeah! I'm repping my Falcons. We had a serious let down this year. Made the playoffs last year and went backwards this year. Things are not what they used to be. Remember the Big 8!
All of those teams in that conference were unbelievable. Things have really changed.

Ah, the 3A Big Eight Conference....that's when I played. Rough days. Rough days, I tell ya. Hertford, Bertie, Hunt...man. Beddingfield, Fike, Southern Nash with Julius Peppers....we were garbage except one year.....and ummm...CB Aycock. But they didn't count. Lol. And most years, the conference was only awarded 2 playoff spots. That conference hurt a lot of people, physically.

JamesDavis06, you know who I'm talking about. I just don't like Northeastern. Nothing personal. I just....don't. I hope y'all do meet and beat Kinston, so that we can potentially see you in the eastern finals. Problem is, I don't think y'all will. I think Hertford beats you.

Can I butt in for a second if yall don't mind? I think it's obvious that Kinston is and should be a #1 seed. But in all fairness, NE has not lost to a 2-A team this season. Now you say the Lake Taylor (Va) game carries no weight? I seriously doubt that their is a 2-A team bigger, stronger or faster than Lake Taylor, so it does benefit NE to have played them, and played them well I might add. They are blaming logistics for the lower seed that NE got, and I can't say that as a fan I'm too keen on watching them play their own conference foes again. But Hertford County IS a team to be weary of. Not because they came "close" to beating NE, but because they are now familiar with NE and they have revenge on their minds. Plus it doesn't hurt to have one of the best underclassmen wide receiver that I have seen play in a very long time (#25). But overall, don't overlook NE coming out of the East SWE '98.

I think it could be a toss up between the two in the playoffs. Both offenses are similar. I just don't understand why the seeding is the way it is. The teams in the conference are setup to eliminate each other asap.

IMO, the whole how you finish in the conference deal is hogwash too. But how else could they explain a 6-5 team getting a 6th seed, and a 8-3 squad being seeded at 11th? Better yet, a 4-7 squad getting a 10th seed! I know some teams have split conferences and all that, but I think a teams overall record should have more weight than it does.

Nobody said the Lake Tyler game doesn't carry weight. I just don't think that they should beat their chest about almost beating a nationally ranked team when they lost to a team that's not even state ranked. But I know first hand that NE is a dangerous team.

We lost to hunt that game we lost our starting running back and our 2 best wide outs we was playing a jv running back and a jv wide out... but a lost is a lost we ready to go to in school where ever that might be to play if we get past Hertford....

You are correct, they should not be beating their chest....and they didn't....a poster did. And the other team they lost to that you keep pointing out "that's not even state ranked", is a 3-A squad. So if you feel they should be knocked for losing to a higher classified team, then oh well. And not being a smart a@#, but naturally you should know first hand how dangerous they are.....what was the score in last years' play-off game between SWE/NE?? Like the old saying goes, "What have you done for me lately?".

First time I've ever heard of the west being weak or pathetic. Carver is an 8 seed in the west, that should tell you how weak the west is. Granted a lot of the teams didnt have a scheduled as tough as ours.
