My prayers sent to all of you down in western NC! I just saw a clip of where I-40 washed into the Pigeon River. I got on Google maps and almost every major road had the red closed symbols on it. I have never saw that on there before. GOD bless everyone down there in that and Prayers sent from West Virginia! If there is anything we can get together and do to help out please keep us posted. Haywood County just got washed away a few years ago after another hurricane and now this again…. GOD bless all of ya and stay strong!!

Seeing some of the reports out of the western NC area is just heart breaking. I remember as a kid, my late Dad, taking us to Chimney Rock and then as an adult taking my kids there and knowing it is pretty much gone is just heart breaking

Most of my career was spent as a 911 Director, so when I talked to folks it was usually on their worst day.. Hearing the stories of some locations where communications by cell or otherwise even for first responders werent working and folks were unable to contact anyone for help is just devastating to hear. My heart goes out to all those communities and first responders and I pray for safety and everyone involved.

Right now, there is no power and no cell service in lots of areas in Haywood, and we don’t know when it will be back up. Only road to the mountains is I-26 west from SC. I-40 East/West are closed in the gorge. Old fort mountain is blocked by a mudslide. I-26 East/West has a blockage near Erwin, TN.
