I would have to get a room, it’s a long drive from the triad. One day… hopefully!…. I can see it.
Thanks. Maybe it was Pisgah I bought some from a few years back online.I believe we do at Pisgah but not sure if THS will sell tickets online or not??
Add 2 hours to that for me. Sometimes I wish I lived around Greensboro because of its location but I don't like that traffic all the time. I'm a country boy through and through. First thing I do when I get home and get out is pee.I would have to get a room, it’s a long drive from the triad.
Take pics!Ok I'm going to Waynesville next week. Next year I may go back and experience this game at Pisgah. From what I have seen in youtube video's there is no other game in NC that compares to this. My wife was able to take off so away we go! All the hotels around Waynesville are booked so we are staying in Sylva which is not too far away.
We (Shelby) did a few weeks ago. Played against one of the best teams in South Carolina...Rock Hill South Pointe. We were down by 7 and had the ball with about 4 minutes to go. Lost by 14.Like to see a dominant 2a champion like Reidsville last year play against the upper classes
I’ve been to the Walmart in Sylva. It was for all the wrong reasonsOk I'm going to Waynesville next week. Next year I may go back and experience this game at Pisgah. You buying black flag??I’ve been to the Walmart in Sylva. It was for all the wrong reasons
Been to all three. Tuscola at Pisgah is a better atmosphere than at Waynesville. Seen the other two many times.Top 3 in no order…
Scotland and Richmond
Tuscola and Pisgah
Crest and Shelby
I had taken my family to the mountains on vacation and I decided stop by the casino in Cherokee to gamble. I ended up losing almost $6000 and the following morning I had to make the trek to Walmart in Sylva where I had money wired to me from Elizabeth City this was back when I was a gambling very hard and never let my wife find out about losing that money I Tried going to Food Lion in Cherokee but at that time of the morning they couldn’t handle the amount of money that I was having wired in. I couldn’t go through a local bank cause at that time I didn’t have a bank account of my own.You buying black flag??
Lol 😂 , I haven’t been to casino since March. That may not sound long but to me it’s an eternity. Only gambling I’ve done is lottery. That story may sound crazy but it was true. We were two days into a five day vacation around that area when I went on full tilt in the early morning hours. Like yourself I also hate going to Walmart.Dagoob, you just gave me three more reasons why I don’t gamble.
Losing lots of money.
Having to lie to my wife, who has a built in BS detector.
Having to go to a Walmart.
see if you can buy a half and a half ahead of timeOk I'm going to Waynesville next week. Next year I may go back and experience this game at Pisgah. Make sure you eat at The Jarrett House in Dillsboro ( it has a address on line as 518 Haywood Rd, Sylvia NC. 28779
The food there is heavenly. They serve family-style country cooking. I would go out of my way to eat there.
Its a hotel too!
I hope you have a good time, I'm sure the leaves are turning up there n ow. Pretty county. Hope to get up that way before the end of the month myself.
Next week is Mitchell vs Mt. Heritage in Burnsville. Probably the most heated rival game in WNC with the exception of Pisgah and Tuscola. Plus it’s for the conference championship and top playoff seed. It will be standing room only in the “hole”.Think we’re going the mountains next week also. Thanks for this information. I’m almost certain we’re making this trip. I was actually checking Maiden Blue Devils and I see they are playing another undefeated team Bunker Hill next Friday in Claremont. That game peaks my interestNext week is Mitchell vs Mt. Hey Wiz I want to go to stadium with the best view of the mountains. I’m picturing a field down in the valley with mountains on both sides. 1a or 2a preferably. I’m just not familiar enough. I used to always hear about Swain County and Murphy, and I’ve seen pics of the stadium in Cherokee. We just want to enjoy ourselves and experience something different than what NE offers.daagoob, go further west!
WOULDN'T MIND SEEING A GAME IN "THE HOLE".....REIDSVILLE HAS PLAYED MT. HERITAGE 4 TIMES BUT 3 WERE IN REIDSVILLE AND 1 IN CHAPEL HILL....MAYBE ONE OF THESE DAYS................MAGNA VISTA HIGH SCHOOL IN RIDGEWAY, VA. ALSO CALLS THEIR STADIUM....THE HOLE....MV IS ABOUT 25 MILES FROM REIDSVILLE........Next week is Mitchell vs Mt. Heritage in Burnsville. Probably the most heated rival game in WNC with the exception of Pisgah and Tuscola. Plus it’s for the conference championship and top playoff seed. It will be standing room only in the “hole”.
Goob….u know that I would love to see you there. It is a big game…. Lot of people from Catawba county would love to see the Bears upset the Blue Devils. As you prolly know…. We are 2 hours east from the west side of Asheville….where I think you and your wife are going. It would be a long trip if you decided to do it…. Of course it’s a straight shot on I-40… which wouldn’t be bad. Thanks for this information. I’m almost certain we’re making this trip. Come on to Tuscola.Hey Wiz I want to go to stadium with the best view of the mountains. I’m picturing a field down in the valley with mountains on both sides. 1a or 2a preferably. Yea it does look nice. I did a Google earth street view at Tuscola's field from the corner of the endzone on the home side. You get a good view of mountains around it too. I'm looking forward to next weekend.Pictures of Owen look good with Mountain View’s.
Tuscola-Pisgah
Murphy-Robbinsville
Reidsville-Shelby
and a personal game I’d love to see is my WRH Dogs play Swain at least once!
I looked on google earth and it looks like The Jarrett House may be closed or maybe under new management if it sold. There is a sign in front that says for sale. The google earth street image is from 2019. There is another place across from it called Kostas. I'll definitely go by there and check them out though. Thanks Wiz.Ottis, Im serious now, you know when I talk about DarHorse foogtball I'm serious, well when I talk about good food, Im serious too!

Otis... Yeah, it just recently sold a while back and has been going under some renovations. If that's near where you're staying then for food I would say Kostas is okay, you can do better though. The Haywood Smokehouse is directly across the road, absolutely amazing BBQ, (my personal favorite spot). Also close by, Creekside Oyster House has really good seafood or fried food type fare. Foragers Canteen has really good burgers and pub food. Innovation Brewing Company for local craft beers. Speedy's has the best pizza in town. Mesquite Grill is probably your best bet for Mexican food and Margaritas. For Hot Wings, O'Malleys is hit and miss. Bogarts is pretty good American style food but still think it's closed due to kitchen fire. For breakfast, The Coffee Shop.
Not sure this year on Tuscola selling 50/50 online. Pisgah never does.I believe we do at Pisgah but not sure if THS will sell tickets online or not??
I thought it was Tuscola I had bought tickets online for before. Not sure this year on Tuscola selling 50/50 online. Pisgah never does.
