Official 2024 JV Football Scores Thread

Final
North Surry 42
East Surry 30

Big win for my Hounds! Helped us finish the year on a high note.. best we played all season we were really fired up from the start. It took us all year to figure the offense out but we did the final 3 games and it worked well for us, scored 30 a game to end it. Defense got better through the year, never lost more than 2 TD's. With a few breaks and a game week 2 I see us being 6-7 wins easily, but it is what it is.

Proud of them for not giving up, I think they will be fun to watch in a couple of years.

With the ES loss the Foothills 2A JV race is really wacky.

It looks like it is unexpectedly going to be West Wilkes and East Surry playing for the JV title next Thursday in Pilot in a repeat of 2021, very ironic.

Wilkes Central had the inside line to a share after East upset them and they beat West Wilkes badly in a shutout, then came Forbush out of nowhere last week who upset them in a thriller, they are now out of it. Forbush lost to both West and ES so they are gonna be the third team due to beating WC.

Really fun season in the foothills this year, everyone but Surry Central had a lot of fun moments. Surry Central sadly went winless on a Football team for the first time since 1990 due to Elkin not making that game up.

I'm gonna miss JV ball in this conference, it was a fun 4 years. Everyone except WC, SC, and North Wilkes had their times to shine.

4:44am and can’t sleep again tonight ! I hate this life of not sleeping at night. 🙄 Worst part is there is nothing going on this time on night or morning, which ever.

Dang, I watch Barneby Jones, Highway Patrol and Dragnet starting at 4AM. If one of those 3 don’t put you back to sleep, just get up and have some coffee. It’s hell to be old.

I have Sleep Apnea and I have tried everything including several Dr. prescriptions sleeping pills and up to 50 mg of Melatonin. TV on TV off, bed to recliner back to bed, and even walked out the street at 1, 2 or 3 am.

Do you use a bi-pap or c-pap machine? I have sleep apnea as well and use a bi-pap machine and have no issues.

I don't think I can sleep with something on my face. I couldn't stand those Covid masks on my face. The c-pap was suggested. I am just sleeping when I can, day or night, mostly a little of both. I go back to my doctor on Friday 11/8/24 but I don't go back to the sleep specialist until January, trying different things. I have my alarm set on Fridays to wake me at 5:30 if I go to sleep. lol. About the 3rd week of the season, I fell asleep that Friday afternoon and woke up near the end of the 1st Qtr. I have my phone alarm set for Fridays at 5:30. lol

I may try either of these when I go back, (bi-pap or c-pap) my insurance pays everything anyway.

I sleep so well now after getting my machine. I think you should try it.
Thank you for speaking up. I have been hoping for ideas from other people who have tried different things and I have not heard of the bi-pap and I will have to ask about that one. I see one advertised on TV I will ask about also that does not cover the face and helps to breathe better. I am not sure my insurance will cover it though as it requires an implant.

I have sleep apnea but it was considered mild so I have a dental sleep device that pushes my lower jaw forward when I sleep which also brings by tongue forward.... Its basically a mouth piece on top and bottom of my teeth connected by tight rubberband things. I basically look like Slingblade when I sleep. My parents both have sleep apnea and find that they sleep better in recliners. Hope u find something that works TD

Thank you KW23, I hope I find something too. What I take does not work so I guess I will try something that I may not want to use. I don't see the sleep specialist again until January.

TD, you might want to check into the Inspire implant. I have a friend that has it. He swears by it. It is an outpatient procedure. It actually comes with a remote. No mask. Some medical problems will rule it out. Just a suggestion. Good luck
