Northside jax at east duplin ... please leave prediction ... an why

I played under Eason while pollock was the OC, two completely different styles. They worked amazing together. cant really compare the two. Just so different.

we all have our opinions, but it really doesnt matter what any of us think. East Duplin and Northside both are very good teams. anything that has happened up to this point doesnt matter either. this game will have an identity all it's own. i think this will be a close game. i hope my Panthers win but only time will tell. Friday night the players will decide that on the field. again, our opinions are really worth nothing. either way, these two teams have had some classics over the years. i hope that's not the case Friday night. my hope is that not only do we win, but that we win by at least a couple of TD's. i dont know if my heart can take another nailbiter like these two teams have become known for, but it wouldnt surprise me if thats what happens. all in all there should be a very electric atmosphere Friday night. here's hoping for an injury free game.

I understand. Eason came from that coach Padgett mentality (SWO) that his players would always be in the better physical conditioning than his opponent and that wins you a lot of games. Pollocks X's and O's are unreal in comparison to some of the great coaching minds our area has produced beating him twice as Clinton saw is hard. The longevity Eason put together cannot go underestimated either because he builth a program from scratch is amazing in itself and we all know he was a winner BUT he never got to the big game.

Pollock has the better football mind, while Eason had a better view of how administration works.

They both have things about them that make them great. Coach Eason shaped a whole football program. forgive me if I'm wrong but only two losing seasons and one of those coming from forfeits because of a dumb situation. Another thing that I always loved was our practice. It was on a tight schedule and it was tough which is how it should be. Can't really compare someone on there first season to someone who built the winning program, and I also have a lot of respect for coach Eason because he didn't have to leave, he knew the team this year was going to be very good, but he wanted to also leave the program with a great opportunity for a good season and it's happened. And hats off to coach P, for people who know him and who have played for him he is a great great football mind. Love both coaches and respect to both

Pollock is one of the best football minds I've ever seen and played for. Coach Eason was a true head football coach. A great face for the team and I've already explained my thoughts on him, and sure Eason didn't take his team to the state championship, but look at his resume. Both coaches will be talked about when Northsides name is brought up for a long long time

I'm trying to figure out if some of the ED poster are trying to convince us or themselves of ED's ability. Most of us already know.

Not trying to convince anyone of anything. The on-field results speak loud enough. ED spanked Northside once. I'm confident they'll do it again.

I wouldn't say Northside doesn't have a huge fan base haha. Just not consistent. Northside has had some huge turnouts at east Duplin. when I played for Northside I always loved playing east Duplin, always looked at the message boards to see what people would say just for fun. But I also really wanted to play the games at ED, by far my favorite away place to play was always ED. Northside and ED have had some of my favorite highschool football games there. I'm excited to go back and watch!

We didn't play Northside when I was in school but Eason quickly turned it into a rivalry.

Pollock did lead a semi-pro team to a "National Champship" as a QB. Playoffs are right up his alley.

Northside 28 - east duplin 21 ..... i think Northside has alot more momentum played a alot harder playoff schdule an had to go on the road ..... an they done something east duplin has never done ... beat a undefeated clinton in the playoffs
everybody knows you usually pick Onslow County teams to win anyway. i was surprised you picked Clinton over Northside.

yea, sure, the DarkHorses spanked them worse than you did first time and,,,,....... you're setting yourself up for disappointment again:rolleyes:.
@Wiz, keep in my that this is one of our fans talking smack, im sure simply to fight fire with fire. i can almost guarantee you that our players themselves will take Northside just as serious as they would have any other potential Eastern Championship opponent.

May take in the WRH/Tarboro game but the say it's going to be extremely cold so I don't know. Last weeks game hasn't got out of me yet:(

Kinda hard to predict...even though Northside played a great game Friday night and deserved to win, Clinton did not play up to their potential by any stretch...the seniors were "let down" by the underclassmen. They were ready for it to be over! Our seniors played their hearts out but didn't get much help!! East Duplin by 3.

I said it earlier this year the east has nothing for the west this year. i have seen ED play this year they are good but they have nothing for Shelby or Monroe.

first we have to get past NS. if we do that we shall see. :)

Lot of respect for NS, South Columbus has had some great games with them, but I have to pull for East Duplin in this one. Reason being is we know how hard that elusive State Championship can be and I do believe our two schools have worked as hard over the years to achieve that goal as anybody. Would love to see the Stallions and the Panthers finally bring one home! NS is still a young school and I just don't see how they can go much longer without getting a title of their own, they are in the thick of it every year. Probly won't be very long before they bring one home.

I think that Northside has to look at the inevitable for them under the realignment that begins next year. They will be butting heads with Havelock every year in that conference and the sledding may get pretty tough for them.
