Northeastern at Holmes

Huge game between two of the top teams in the state and definitely top two in our area. Everyone knows the talent that Northeastern has but what a lot of people don't know is that Edenton has one of the top backs in the country in jr Mitjonta Stanley. This kid is a rising star and may very well lead this Holmes team to a state c'ship before he graduates. If your planning on going to the game then you'd better arrive early. This is the biggest game on Northeastern's schedule and I for one will be at the stadium an hour ahead of kickoff.
104.9 out of Greenville. Not sure of their website or if they have an online presence for streaming.
I love the Aces program coached by Bertie alum. I love the Eagles program with one of the best teams in the state yearly. I think the line of NE is better this year than the Aces. This is no disrespect to the Aces who are one of the best programs in the state. Can't wait. I hope both teams continue to play this game as it's not much to get excited about until playoff time.
A couple more and NE can save a lot of gas and expense by staying home tomorrow...

Only NCHSAA passes and JAH 300 Club passes will be accepted. All 3 ticket gates will be up and running. It is also CMS and Chowan Parks and Rec Night so we will have all our middle school players and pop warner players/cheerleaders attending as well. Please get here early and please be patient with our gate keepers. Be safe and thanks for the support of both teams.

LoL oh okay if you say so. Both teams play cupcakes games every year for decades. Hope for a good game. Was going to try and make it but these floods are way more important. Going to eastern part to put some work in for a few buddies that have lost everything
I think the teams play the best teams in the our area. I've seen teams play cupcakes and still win championships. It was a great game tonight by the way. Edenton led 14-6 at the half. I left with 2 min. left and NE was up 30-14. It was an exciting game to watch.

Swo5, why do you repeatedly talk down about Northeastern schedule? All you ever say is that we play cupcakes all season long. What are we supposed to do when our coach goes out of his way to play good teams only to be turned down. Wallace Rose Hill won't play,Kinston won't play,Oscar Smith Va won't play,the list goes on and on.I can't wait for the playoffs. Then we get the opportunity to play teams from the ECC and around Onslow County,Kinston,etc. Im supposing none of those teams are cupcakes in your eyes? I just get tired of hearing we are overrated, it gets old after a while. I sit back and try not to comment when I see some of these posts but eventually I can't take it anymore. We can't control who we play in conference, and our coach trys his best to get top teams schedule us.

Something you might like to know is that I am a big fan of Aaron Harris now. He may not be a Dallas Hall, but he is an extremely good athlete and is at his best when being pressured and on the run. I have had a change of heart.
Good to hear. Yes he is mentally tough. No he’s not Dallas..but qb isn’t his first position either. Also last night he was playing on a pulled hamstring. I was only saying before that we shouldn’t rush to judgement when the season was just getting started. The team came together last night in the second half and really played well. Edenton is a good team with a lot of speed but our eagles pulled it out! They are proving a lot of people wrong! No they can’t help who they play but some people are just determined to talk down about them.

If we do meet it will probably be at NE house. Thats ok, we have a LOT better record on the road than at home in the playoffs. It would be a great game. But there will be a lot of water under the bridge before then, so to speak. Have another great season and I hope we do also.
I’ve given it a day to think about it and having seen both teams for years I saw growth in both teams. For Northeastern I saw them win a ground and pound game. Usually Northeastern scores quickly and explosively and in this game they won methodically and patiently which is normally not their style. For Holmes they finally had some competition and showed they could compete with what I think is a physical and elite team. This game will serve both teams well moving forward
Come on man. Say whatever you want that makes you sleep better. No powerhouse programs will play NE period. The powerhouse teams have nothing to gain. Its known throughout the state for many years that team in your area choke every year in the playoffs for MANY YEARS. You have to win title to gain respect man. Not sure why you think people should give you respect, you have to earn in. But hopefully NE wins out and this water calms down, so SWO can make the trip and show you real football. Lucky you the floods don't seem to be going anywhere, anytime soon. Not even sure when we will play another game. Kids and family's don't even have places to live or food to eat, super sad down this way
The lost last year to Wallace I don't think was a choke job. The Wallace fans said the NE was the best team they played all season. Didn't Wallace play SWO and beat yall 49-7? Looks like you were the last cupcake...
Last year NE team was very good, don't get me wrong. They could pass and run and defend. Reason why JR left, he knew NE would have no QB an be one dimensional. Come playoff time you will not be able to run at SWO all night, promise you that. Last year NE was your beat shot at winning and choked hard. But whatever makes you sleep better at night.

I pray we meet SWO in the playoffs, I really mean that. I can't speak for our entire fan base but I can tell you that I personally am begging for that opportunity. I don't want Clinton,WRH,or Kinston to get to you guys before we do. I want the whole entire orange and black nation here in Elizabeth City, rings,jackets and all. I will sit right on the visitors side and take bets with everyone and that's a fact. Northeastern will win the east this year,and we will win it convincingly.

You don't want to see SWO this year. You will go home a sour guy for sure. The last game I saw SWO and NE play SWO drug NE up and down the field all night long. It will happen again. As one poster said with no dog in the fight, NE looked one dimensional and looked bad doing that. You have one player, repeat one player freshwater. He has dropped off the radar since committing to ecu. Ecu is way below average. They take SWO 3rd or 4th best player every year. He's not even a RB and you HAVE TO USE him to play RB. Mark it down NE if they make it to the east finals will get beat by 14 by SWO
