North Davidson vs North Lincoln

Don’t know much about North Davidson except they were pretty good in years past and coming into this game with 4 wins. Probably faced tough schedule and will bring the heat for a 4 win team. Just not expecting them to upset NL. North expecting to come out tough and swinging as they did so last year in the playoffs.

Control their QB and you win easily. He’s a scrambler. Very athletic. Second place team in a very weak Mid-Piedmont Conference. Had to win their last game to clinch a playoff spot.

Oak Grove, North Davidson, Central Davidson, Asheboro, and Montgomery Central made the playoffs from the Mid State Conference. Ledford is the only team that will be at the Drive Inn Movie Theater this Friday. Oak Grove should win at home vs. North Iredell , doubtful North Davidson can hang with a tough
North Lincoln squad , ditto Central Davidson at Asheville Reynolds and Asheboro will get the DRCS, Dudley Runnin' Clock Syndrome , late in the second quarter or early in the third. South Point will pound Montgomery Central like a three dollar snare drum.

Oak Grove was built and took some of Ledford's students and also some of North Davidson's , too.

I agree with all that's been said. ND has potential but is still learning and trying to head back in the right direction. The schedule was tough but losing to Aboro really could have taken the wind out of our sails... instead the coaches and kids responded by beating Central and Ledford to close it out nicely.

Our reward is a tough NL team that will be highly favored as they deserve to be. I will be there. Love to meet up and chat with anyone.

I wish I could be there but faced with some mess and military time. As you will see clearly, they will ground and pound and use Wingate up the middle ALOT. If that guy packed more muscle he’d be even more dangerous. The kid already has speed with some of the bulk he has already.

Very uncertain what the future holds for North Lincoln. They’ll get their 2 one two punch RBs back next year BUT everyone else will be GONE. This is a VERY senior heavy team with JVs that are ehhh so so and not even sure bout NL middle school what they got down the pipeline.

If some guys from JVs hit the weights and track this spring and get Rocky Balboa type motivation they could be decent next year but it won’t be like this year, who knows. This is the most senior heavy team I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen em all it feels like. 26 27 years of football watching, this one takes the prize of senior numbers. More returns this year than Hickory and they did give Hickory a game last year when they met the 2nd time. At least for 2 1/2 quarters.

A couple of years ago, Ledford’s JV team was abysmal. That team is now their varsity. I hear kids talk and I hear some saying that some of their better football players aren’t playing for some reason or another. I can’t confirm that is indeed the case. Just kids talking.

I can tell you that Ledford Athletics is looking different, organizationally. I have to wonder if that has to do with the recent retirement of their longtime AD. At the JV I went to this year at Ledford, they had kids running the PA system. Less than professionally.

I know that OGHS took kids from ND and Ledford, but that’s how new high schools work, you build them in areas of the greatest growth. That’s Midway and Wallburg right now. Davidson County screwed up some of the lines during their last couple of new elementary schools (Friendship and Brier Creek, especially). No lines are perfect. Ledford did seem to be hit the hardest of the two.

Talent pool is down over there and they had reaped the benefit of some good athletes that moved or transferred over there from High Point and Tville the last four years. Those guys are graduated and the coaching staff has to find its way and rebuild. Losing quality assistant coaches hurts a program pretty badly at times.

What year is Stober? I saw he killed it thanks to YouTube. Him and a receiver connected for long bombs that pretty much lead to North’s demise along with North’s fumbles. Gotta admit though North could move the ball on Hickory on the ground. Probably one soild defensive back away from a solid run. Tney already have a LB going to the shrine bowl but I know he can’t do it all

Ledford’s had a pretty good run but has graduated some decent athletes. Their football team is probably going to struggle for the next couple years. It doesn’t help their case that their basically the size of a mid-2A school.
However, Ledford is still pretty competitive in most other sports.

This is more to a fact that to many high schools in the good ol boy network county are hiring teachers who don't do anything. Many have had tremendous vacancies for coaching over years but some principals and some past principals filling spots with who they know instead of people who do more than teach.
