Your thoughts on 8 Classes

It is very diluted but that has to be what ADs and coaches were shooting for when they petitioned for this model. The 4A looks the most watered down in the middle and I'm not sure you've really accomplished what everyone was truly after at the 1A or 8A level. It seems like we struggle with any numbers concerning this topic that aren't either 4 or 8. 5, 6, or 7 classes just can't gain a foothold and never have.

I think 90% of the people agree that 6 classifications would have been best. But the ones in charge make the decisions based on money. So this is what we have.
The 8 classification is what the Coaches and AD’S were in favor for.

The ones in charge that did this is the state politicians. When they capped the number of teams in each classification, there was know choice but to go to 8. If more schools are built, then we would have to move up to 9 classifications if we outgrow the 64 limit. Crazy how they took over.

Very watered down. I guess competition doesn't matter anymore
This is a long term plan, to account for future growth as well. In 10-20 years it'll probably make more sense, especially as urban schools continue to balloon. Sure it may seem watered down today, however the ADM gaps were too large with only 4 classifications. In the 2A/3A especially, some of the differences between the smallest and largest schools were the size of an enrollment of another school in the same classification. That just can't happen and maintain a competitive fairness at the same time.
