The 3 TO's for ND is what is keeping this game close. I'm sure Coach Holcomb won't be a pleasant person in the locker room.
Christian is very good, but that is just baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaadddddddd defense from North.
It's hard to classify them using public school standards. The common logic is to go up one class, but there's a couple of private schools in Charlotte every year that definitely look like they are 2 classes up over what their ADM would suggest.
Christian now has wins over Catholic and North Davidson to start the season, both top 10 4A schools. That's probably the best pair of wins that anyone in the state has so far.

Props to Christian. Hate to lose any game, hopefully we get healthy, learn from it and come out better next time. Bout all you can say about that....
Congrats to Charlotte Christian on its 1st 4A win in school history according to Charlotte Observer Langston Wertz article. also; happy to see ND schedule up. I guess playing this private school is scheduling up. I think ND finally got a good read on their team. Wow, CC 52pts is impressive.
Private Schools can get very good players. And ND had fared well the last few years against their CPC schedule against schools that are all larger than ND.
Christian has beaten Catholic which I watched abd ND.. They are good .

Already looked it up last week. Well I was setting this up but thanks for ruining it. All I got now is 4A ND got beat by a single 1A school.
Guys, it's a school that can recruit any player they want. They were the better team last night, doesn't matter which classification they were. That was not their first win against 4A, you would think LW would know that?? Getting lost on the #s Of their enrollment is like saying IMG would be 1A based on enrollment, numbers are irrelevant here. I realize they are not a sports school like IMG but you can hand pick in those situations. I will take nothing from CC, they earned the W.

You are correct, Christian can get whoever they want. They've even taken players for Catholic. No Catholic cannot recruit and doesn't(obligatory to say at this point) but North Davidson put up a fight, they'll correct stuff on defense and I believe they'll be just fine.
Well I said the D was the weakness at the start of the season, and boy did it show last night. Granted, Christian is very good and has a bit of D1 talent. Congrats to them. CPC and Godevilsgo, your posts have absolutely nothing of value to bring in the discussion. Just worry about your teams and quit trolling others.

How is it their first win over a 4a school if they beat defending 4a champ Catholic to start the year lol? Have not read LW in quite a while, but if he really wrote that he must not do a lot of research. I would be embarrassed if I did so as a columnist for the state's biggest newspaper...
Christian was also smoking a good Hoggard team last year when the game was cancelled just before half time due to weather and was not made up or counted as an official outcome.

Yesh that defense..... that's rough. Giving up 50 can hurt long term confidence. Thankfully, they can say it was against serious talent.
Turnovers were s problem against Ledford and still they persist. I'm sure Holcomb isn't pleased.

This was a great game for ND. Got them out of their comfort zone up there in the Winston area. Playing the same teams with the same results. Christian can play with anyone and Estep is as good a game day coach as there is in this state. They can drop the loss and it prepares everyone for the conf and playoffs. I bet the coaches have everyone's attention this week.

Two years ago Christian was up by 4 or 5 on Hoggard before the game was called and last year Christian beat Hoggard 27-10 according to MaxPreps.
Trench Fighter is right...I found newspaper articles for both outcomes, so this was NOT the 1st win for Christian over a 4A public high school. Poor research by the Charlotte Observer.
I've noticed that a lot recently out of the C.O. Last week, they said that Butler leads the all-time series against Richmond 5-1, but that's not right either. It's 5-3 all-time (Richmond had 2 playoff wins in the early 2000s). Poor research.

I never thought Id be saying this but we miss Nygil more on defense than on offense. Twice on TD's to their top receiver we had coverage but weren't turning to see the ball. Should have been picks or at least batted away. If that's Nygil they are picks not TD's.
There were a lot of points left on the field for us and a few we gave up that were maybe exceptions as well. Having Nygil out did hurt more than expected, Blake going out first series and Jackson getting hurt caused problems as well. 2 Off. lineman out by the 2nd half, issues there too. We had a couple of drops on TDs that resulted in no points. The 56 yd FG was snapped before Christopher was even set, had to change steps just to get it off. I still say it was a game we could win but one that Christian did win. Agree with other ND fans, learn from it and get better (getting healthy will go a long way). Still believe in the team, coaches, etc. State title game isn't until 2nd week of Dec, time there to make necessary improvements. I still think this is a special group, I haven't lowered my expectations!
